A very religious girl in my class mentioned once that she didn't like Halo because it was too violent. Me and the other gamers there all shared a little nerdy chuckle.
Edit: Ignore what I just said. That was the product of insomnia.

i have a few friends that are virgin gamers and have no idea what im talking about when me and my other talk about games.

so it goes like this.

Me: Hey i beat halo 3 on legendary with iron skull on

Gamer Friend: Thats kool dude, hey we otta make a map sometime

Non-Gamer Friend: Hey i found out there gonna be a halo 4

Me: um...no?

Non Gamer Friend: yea yea its called halo wars

me: Facepalm

my non-gamer friend here wanted to get in to what we talk about most of the time so he did some reseach and failed big time

also this was like a year ago.

so.... when has a non gamer make you wanna put a fail sign on his head?
I dont, i make sure when I talking about games ro things im sure they dont understand I spend time explaining things to them... Your eally cant act like an elitist twat because you play video games or are into something, or have more knowledge about certain things than other people.

It is also a good skill to develope if you manage to get a girlfreind who doesnt know much about video games, so you can atleast converse with them about something you enjoy doing.

Technically, Halo Wars is Halo 4. The fourth game, though not chronologically fourth.
No. Halo Wars is no more "Halo 4" than

is a season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Halo Wars is a spin-off, with only a like universe and single character to connect it with other Halo games.

I would have just let loose on her ass.

"Virtual murder is too violent? ***** YOU PEOPLE HAVE BURNED REAL PERSONS ALIVE JUST BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS AN INVISIBLE MAN FLOATING IN THE CLOUDS!!"
that's just intolerant. besides, he never even mentioned which religion it was.

anyway, i'm rather a casual gamer in that respect (well, more out of touch then casual, but anyway), so i am often the one that does these things.

cant remember any spectacular occasions like the ones mentioned though.

MEANWHILE, IN SEATLE:

Mom walks into room while me and dad were playing Halo and, with a completely straight face, asks, "Is this Unrealtournament?"

Looking back on it, I realize now that I should have said, "THIS! IS! HALO!" Then kicked her in the chest, 300 style.

I'm with some of the other people in this thread. He tried to finally talk to you guys about games, and you shut him down. I'm surprised he even bothers talking to you guys since you make it seem like this is normal routine.

If a "Non-Gamer" talks to me about games, I go along with it. I correct them on the way, but for the most part, I enjoy listening to them think whats going to be the next big game, and then I introduce them to other games they will never hear about as well.

Sorry, I'm no Halo fan, I assumed it was part of the canon. Especially when the setting makes it look like a legitimate game, as opposed to a spinoff, and I've never seen it referred to as such.

Damn it. That's what happens when I have a case of insomnia. My intelligence drops a substantial rate.

I had a roommate last year who didn't seem to grasp why video games were considered fun.

I'll repeat that, just because it bears repeating: She couldn't grasp why games would be considered entertaining.

Now, video games aren't everyone's thing, and that's okay. But this was just... beyond anything I'd ever seen before.

You should say in as creepy a voice as possible "No this is it what mrder is like!" whilst pretending to reach for a weapon.*

My freinds mom was likr that she thoght simple games like Doom and Carmageddon wold turn you into a serial killer. Although she was also a thumper. Hell she wouldn't even let him have toy guns.

*Do not under any circumstances follow any bit of advice I give out on the internet in regards to proper social etiquette and for that matter disregard any advice of this nature I give in person too.

Considering I like to avoid a lot of the popular games out there, I'm usually the one wearing the sign.

ooh when non-gamers talk shit right before you kick their ass in a game
my best example is beating a guy in a 10 stock match in brawl WITHOUT LOSING A LIFE
