When Yellowstone Erupts, what is your plan?

Um, Its not going to be that bad. I'm going to be in an ash zone though. So here's what will happen for me on a regular post eruption day:
Get up
Put on cloths
put on face mask to protect myself from ash inhalation
bike to work/school through ash while avoid the piles of ash that was piled up on the side of the roads
eat food from a stock pile of ramen noodles and water when I get home.
play some skyrim.

Odds of this Super Volcano erupting in my life time is slim.
So I just go about as business as usual.

OT: I really don't know, just hope it doesn't go off during my time on this little marble or if it does pray that it's not the end of life. Sorry to sound like a nah-sayer, I'm just a paranoid git when it comes to stuff like this sometimes.

Yup, this is the attitude I'm holding. It's future Sam's problem so I don't need to deal with it right now, there are far more pressing dangers I don't care about so Yellowstone isn't on my mind.

Buy weapons and ammunition, stock up as much nonperishable foodstuff as I can get my hands on. Stock up as much water as possible. Wait for the inevitable collapse of social order or join said collapse. Otherwise enjoy my time while I still have it.

I plan on taking my pump-action water filter bottle, a coat over a few layers with some gloved and duct tape to seal the outfit around the gas mask. Then, I'm going to a friends house and if he's still alive, join them, if not, raid the weapon stash. I'll go around, scavenging what I can while I set to travel to better climate. Current location: East coast, north GA.

Well since I live in Ireland it won't make a bit of difference here. This place is as sunny as the dark side of the moon. I'll just continue on as normal.

Well the MAIN problem is going to be the collapse of infrastructure and food growth for a year or so, about 90% of the population CANNOT be supported without the regular deliveries from other countries of food, toys and fuel etc. The massive reduction in fuel and other goods would lead to drastic reductions in the amount of good deliveries to supermarkets, leading to a slow death for most of the population.

Instead of asking yourself, what will I do to ensure my survival for the first couple of weeks, ask yourself, where will my next meal this time next year come from?

I don't have anything against necessary cannibalism. Salt's normally packaged fairly well where I live so I should find a few jars while scavenging to preserve the meat. Knowing where the secluded communities and people of less vitality are is a plus.

Honestly, there is no plan anyone in the United States could have to survive this scenario. Most of the central north US would die within days if not hours of the eruption from the firestorms, ash and toxic gases. The US as a nation would collapse, and, depending on the severity of the eruption, the rest of the world is looking at anywhere from several months to a few years of ash blocking the sun. This would make agricultural yields marginal at best. And then the Ice Age would worsen (many Geologists still consider us to be in an Ice Age, people).

My survival plan: be on Mars in a self sufficient colony before this happens.
