Where are they now?

So, I was over at a friends' house today and while he was rummaging through the depths of his wardrobe for a misplaced copy of System Shock he came across an old Limp Bizkit CD. Now, that band were absolutely awful and shit, but I remember a point when they were huge, doing film soundtracks and selling stacks of merchandise. Then, one morning, they were gone without a trace. It was definitely strange for such a huge band to just drop off the radar in the manner that they did. I have no idea what happened to any of them, and it got me wondering exactly how a band of that size can just disappear, no matter how terrible they were.
So, I ask you what is the single biggest fall from grace you can think of for a particular popular TV show, franchise, band, celebrity, or anything else you care to mention. What was the reason for their sudden disappearance from the spotlight (if any) and where are they now?

No one seems to have heard of them nowadays in this youthful gaming generation.

Limp Bizkit became really unpopular after the Lead guy made a racist comment while on stage at some festival.. They released their Greatest Hits album, Then another album with original content, but it sold very badly. Haha, you probably wont believe me but I'm not a fan of them either, only like a few songs. I really don't know how I this. I think i read this on Wikipedia while looking for information on John Otto, their drummer.

Yes, but I wish they hadn't made it point-and-click.

Point and click kinda died, and if you ever hear anything about 'em, its always, "Monkey Island" or "Kings Quest." Its the lesser known and loved star of a dead genre...

*looks at post count*
Whee, I'm no longer 1337!

1337 + 1 > 1337 .
Anyway, what's wrong with point'n'click games? They're another 'Where are they now?'
...there's been a slight resurgence, but they're not as big as they once were...

Faith No More, they were huge and disappeared.

arrested development (the band, not the show) were huge as well (at least one single and a grammy later) and they too disappeared.

I think it is when the popular music transforms faster than bands can keep up, is when they disappear. Its sad these days, most music just plain blows, take me back to 1994.

Text-based games give you more options. And there's something so intimate about typing out a command for a character. It makes them more relatable.

This may just entirely be me, but System of a Down were doing great. Next to everyone knew Chop Suey (Love it or hate it) and the controversial themes of their songs were always a topic of discussion somewhere.
Then they just kinda disappeared. Sure, Serj Tankian has 'Elect The Dead', but now some of the only conversation about them is 'Hey, remember System of a Down? They were awesome.'
Also, there's Rage Against the Machine. At their time, they were the shit. So many people loved them, and Guitar Hero III's promotion just widened their radar. So many people loved the funky tunes of Tom Morello, and then... They just disappeared. I know they disbanded in 2000, but aside from GH III, no one really talked about them, even when they came back together in 2007.
As I said, this may just entirely be me.

One-hit-wonder Chumbawamba.
Pulp.
One-hit-wonder Mattafix.
Prodigy.

It's in my playlist, sure, but where are these people now - why aren't they making music?

Green Day? They had probably the biggest album of 2004, sold millions and were a household name everywhere, but I haven't heard anything about them since, well, probably 2005.

Not making lame songs about Soccer Hooligans...

Chumbawumba actually played a wholely acoustic set at the Calgary Folk Festival last year... they were awesome! Basically coming across like an Acoustic Punk Band with a heavy focus on protest music.

My question about them was just as much of curiousity as anything else, lovely to see they're still around: Tubthumping has got to be one of the most awesome songs by them, and by anyone, ever.

What ever happened to Star Wars: Battlefront III?
Funny you should mention that, because as I read Gamecentral today I saw this nice article...

If you found it hard to understand why LucasArts didn't bail out Free Radical enough to finish the Star Wars: Battlefront III wait till you see this.

It's camcorder footage from a demo reel back in November and it looks amazing, with huge, detailed environments, some amazing cut scenes (and rubbish running animation): tinyurl.com/a9fntz

LucsaArts deserve all the hate mail they get for letting this one get away.
