I usually shop for PC games on Steam or any local store that sells retail Steam games, like the Orange Box.

For console games like xbox360 and ps3,i usually shop that little-no-name-shop-at-the-end-of-that-alley, they also sell 2nd hand copies too. The clerks are friendly too.

There's a bootleg game store called Gamestop at an asian mall where I live :3
Nice. Not only is that awesomely hilarious, but a spectacular serendipity. Have you ever gone in there? I wonder what would happen if the corporate Gamestop found out about it...

As for me, I used to do all my game shopping at major retailers (Target, Best Buy), but lately since I've discovered Game Fly, I've been suckered into buying way more games than I otherwise would have. While I mostly use X-Box Live as a means to download DLC, I have bought a game or two there as well.

Steam for the PC, Game or HMV for the 360.

The sooner the consoles get their heads around digital distribution, the better.
Ugh, i sincerly hope not. I enjoy have my boxes and disc's and the feeling of properly owning it.

GAME, Gamestation, HMV, CEX.

Play.com or Amazon too.

A lot of people say that, and I was one of them, but once you've seen a Steam sale there's no turning back.

I used to love having the boxes, now I think it's a pain in the arse having so many.

CEX is one of mine for trading games, GAME for recent titles, Amazon if trying to look for a cheaper price and a quiet game shop called Third Place for old PC and PS2 games which if you're lucky can find the PS2s most favoured games like Shadow of the Colossus and Resident Evil 4

Anywhere really. I think I've bought games from Tesco, GAME, WHSmith, Gamestation, HMV, Woolworths when it was still open, and probably other places as well. If a shop has a game I want, I'm gonna buy it from that shop, whatever shop it is. Loyalty to, and conversely hatred of, certain shops makes no sense to me.

Shops dont really sell games where i live, and if they do,they ship them about 2-5 months after release, and they are overpriced most of the time.So i buy my games through steam.

From Pirateb..... Oh, you mean....oh okay

I buy my games usually from Puolenkuunpelit(tranlates to Halfmoon games). It's a finnish game store, they sell mostly video games, but they do sell board games and those Warhammer miniature things.

I usually shop at GamePark which is fairly far away from my house but it's a good shop. Okay, the prices are pretty high but they're usually the first ones to have games, they are stable when it comes to pricing and they're not assholes - don't treat me like a potential criminal like some other shops do.

HMV!!!! They always have a sale on something, and if I don't feel like buying games I can get music and movies. Or even t-shirts and posters. It's a good shop.

Steam because they have the most awesome sales in the history of the world and Media Markt when I want a disc version, because they have the lowest prices for new PC games (and some great bargain bins as well, found Dawn of War II for 10? and Witcher Collector's Edition for 20?).

Most of the time I go to a local game store that has anything from atari to the 360 mostly because he gives me more for my trade in, I know the owner and he will help you out any way he can, also gamestop has screwed me over too many times (only go there for special pre-orders), and I like to help out local businesses.

At the toilet store.
(Cookie for anyone who gets the reference.)
But seriously, just at my local EB Games, or JB Hi-fi.

If its a new game, then Walmart. My Walmart is almost 100% always guaranteed to have a copy of it. If its a old used game, I'll check out prices on eBay then go compare to my local EB Games. Depending on who is cheaper/has it, I'll buy from them. I don't like trading in my old games because I know as soon as I do, I'll wanna replay it, and won't be able to find it. And I use Steam for buying PC games, even if it does like to screw up my computer and cause harsh lag.
