I'm sure we all have traits that are similar or the same to those that our parents have, be it height, eye colour, skin colour, intellect etc.

But many of us have features of dubious origins, things that we have that our parents don't seem to.
Call it genetic mutation if you will.

What makes you different from your parents?

I'm the 6 ft 5 child of two sub 6 footers. :D

It didn't come from nowhere. Its likely that you inherited hereditary genes.

Mutations in creatures as complex as humans tend to be bad such as downs syndrome.

Genetic variation comes in the form of you inheriting traits from your parents and the differences you see could be recessive traits or the products of things like crossing over where things get swapped around creating further variation.

I have black hair (My dad insists that it's brown because it's "very unlikely that a caucasion would have black hair. WTF?) And I have a golden ring around the center of my eyes, while colour of the rest changes colour between blue and green often...

Also, I'm insanely skinny, but I think that's because I inherited the super high metabolism that both my parents had...

Yes yes I know, but genetic mutation sounds much more interesting don't you think?

Is it your obsession for technicalities that marks you as different from your parents?

I'm also taller than both my parents. My dad is 5'11" and my mother is 5'7", while I'm 6'2.5"
I also have darker hair than both of my parents, it is almost black now.

Well, I call this one:
No history, and without warning, diabetes...

That, and my eyes have a weird habit of going wack with the color, between brown and dark-ish grey.

I have really curly hair, nether of my parent do but my mom says it's a recessive gene from her great uncle, so I basically lost the frigen lotto with that one. Also I magically went from a blond hair green eyed child to a brown eyed curly brown haired adult, yea genes have screwed me over.

Maybe it came from your grandparents, most mutations are from inbreeding and are usually bad, so I don't think height is from mutation, food also affects height, so there are alot of stuff that comes into play, maybe if you look a little farther in your history, you'll have a tall ancestor.

My eyes are grey-hazel, rather than the green-hazel of both of my parents. I think that's about it really.

This aside from the golden ring and the blue altering. Mine's black ring (noticeable) and brown as a secondary color.

I don't know. I killed them far too many years ago to remember them. It's standard among my people. Also why I don't plan to have kids.
Did you make a delicious stew out of them?

With potatoes?

Being drop-dead sexy.

Really though, I don't know how I'm taller than my parents and still growing.

I'm smart...that seems to be a genetic mutation from most of my mom's family.

But honesty, I don't vary much from my dad, except I have my mom's dark hair, yet mine is darker somehow. So, I'm a short, dark haired girl with dark gray eyes and an Italianate complexion.

My bone structure.

Mom and Dad are normal.

My bones are massive, and keep getting in the way.

Seriously, I walked into a doorframe once (thinking I was thin enough to go through at a certain angle) and pulled it out of the wall.

Sorry, but no.

I'm pretty sure only the False Republic of Jupiter does that.
Oh you are from the People's Empire of Venus then? I always get those two mixed up.

You pulled it out of the wall!?
Either you have really shoddy builders or you are some kind of giant.
I run into door frames all the time and they always seem to win.

It hurt like hell. >_<

But I'm going for shoddy builders... it WAS supposed to be a temporary building.

My parents have very addictive personalities both being hard drug users i did inherit that put instead of shooting needles i intravenously inject video games into my blood stream.I'm also a little shorter than my dad i was two months premature(what can i say i couldn't wait to get out,it was then i knew i have to get as far away from these people as possible.)

I also seem to be those most rational and more intellectual of the bunch.Thank god i also have control over my emotions and know how to not let them effect my behavior seriously like five diagnosed cases of bipolar.

I also enjoy being alone and i think a lot of people take there alone time for granted and don't care for companionship or petty attachments

So in lot of ways I'm like my parents and also because of them i am completely different and i do appreciate them for that
