Beautiful. Yeah, pretty much that, in game form. With more Deathclaws.

It'd allow for pretty varied terrain too. Although I'm not sure I want to walk across the prairies, but that's partly because I grew up in the mountains and find flat land incredibly boring. XD
Well, in fairness, it's because flat land is incredibly boring. Have you ever seen Kansas? At first, you're like "Hey, cool, corn!" And then you realize, that that's all there ever will be. Sure, it's pretty, and scenic, and a whole heap of words that make your ears have tiny little wordgasms, but beyond that, there's nothing there. Nothing like the perilous peaks of a large impassible hill with ideas about being bigger than it really is to get your tingles up. Mountains are awesome. They can have all kinds of things around that draw you in. Like passive rivers with remarkable undercurrents, and imminent death by bears looking for a free snack. You don't get that kind of thrill on a plain.

Australia. Best thing is, since its already mostly desert full of giant animals wanting to kill you they won't have to use much imagination. Just send one of those robots out with a camera and put it directly into a game.

I really would like to see it in Toronto, Canada, besides being in my home country and favorite city, it would lead to a refreshing change of tone. In the US, all the factions are decided, as well as the environment. The whole this is static and done. Doing it in Canada would allow for new factions, and thus, new themes to be explored. Furthermore, because we were only technically a part of the US, we wouldn't have been much of a target. A lot of the infrastructure would still be standing. There would be radically different monsters running around, who evolved to suit the unique environments even more.

However, if I were to pick a location, I might also pick Salt Lake City Utah. Fact is, the mormons that live their have become a powerful force comparable to the old Templar. Imagine what we could do with that, though it would be controversial, it is interesting exploring the idea of what Christianity and this particular branch, could become over time when stressed to its limits. Throw in some fear of technology and ultra conservationism, and you've got an interesting lens to explore the limits of faith and humanity.

That said, I really hope Bethesda just stays out of fallout's way, and leaves it to the pros at Obsidian who actually know what they're doing.

Thank you for contributing to my nightmares for the following weeks.
Glad I could be of service :). I wouldn't worry too much though, you'll be fine if the dart gun will be available in Fallout 4. If on the other hand it will be absent like in New Vegas, consider yourself royally fucked XD.

Orlando Florida, anyone? Tell me sniping feral ghouls from the top of the Epcot Center wouldn't be the highlight of the year.

It'd be interesting to see a country which collapsed under the economic and political fallout of the nuclear winter, rather than as a direct result of the nuclear winter itself.

I would like to see it in Australia just to hear the ghoul voice with an Australian accent and mutate everything that was trying to kill you into deadlier versions of everything trying to kill you.

Basically, set the game to very hard by default.
funny thing is I don't think australia got bombed there is no evidence in the lore

East and West Coast have been covered in 3 and New Vegas. Where should #4 sit? I kinda want it to be set in the north, maybe along the border between the States and annexed Canada. I wonder what sort of Canadian stereotypes would exist in the 2280s.

Somewhere in central USA perhaps? Also maybe much earlier than previous games?

For me, Fallout needs to step back. Its built up the NCR and the west coast a lot. Perhaps its time to leave it be. Otherwise it will soon become a franchise without a wasteland. So my request to Fallout is: Go back, turn back the clocks to 2100's or very early 2200's. Move away from the coasts and the big factions already built up and start again. Make the wasteland more dangerous and deadly, more of a challenge. Make radiation more prevalent and dangerous. The Mojave desert in F:NV was (in my mind) too similar to the expanses and plains of New Austin in Red Dead Repemption.

Maybe set it in a city? The ruins of DC made a brilliant battleground between man, mutant and everthing in between without comprimising the sense of exploration.

I agree the next Fallout should be set between 1 and 2 or sometime around then.

West Virginia just because the intro could have country roads in it.

Thinking about it though what it could have is a conflic centred on Salt Lake City. On one side the NCR and on the other side the RSA (Reunited States of America), it sounds a lot like New Vegas but the diffence is that both are 'good'. It might be interesting to see a Kingdom, not an evil Roman empire but one that actually epitomises noblesse oblige. However, 3 distinct areas maybe a bit much, unless Salt Lake City was the Kingdom but that might be drifting too close to to New Vegas.

Well, I'd personally like to see the Seattle/Ft. Lewis area... that could make for some very interesting and varied environments... but I'm guessing it'll be either Colorado/Utah/the Rockies in general (and they'd better have a goddamned Cannibal! The Musical reference or two if it is) or somewhere in that big ol' radioactive dustbowl that is the midwest.

...also, I love the suggestions of Chicago, simply because it's already been done. I know the game isn't exactly accepted canon, but Fallout: Tactics was set in and around Chicago [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kxq3Rmq1ho], folks.

someplace other than america. i'd be intrested to see what happened to other places in the world. if it placed in england maybe it would turn back to swamp or maybe if it was in russia there'd be nuclear winter.
