This. It's got me a bit worried to be honest. It sounds like China want's to get some talks started so as to avoid a full out assault. South Korea has made it clear that if The North does anything like that shelling a week or two ago, shit will go down. Once their shit goes down, bigger shit will the fan hit. I see North Korea as a child trying to be taken seriously by the adults. Unfortunately they are so childish that they keep getting angry, having tantrums, demanding respect, a seat at the adults table, and generally getting on the adults nerves. Seriously, read some of the press releases from North Korea. They love to refer to South Korea as illegitimate and cowards. Yet, they are majorly dependent on South Korean aid and businesses.
Even worse, it's a kid with access to nuclear weapons. Or at least, trying to get said weapons.
Honestly, if anything happens, I think it will happen in Korea. Iran is an odd country, but there is a lot of internal issues and strife. Recently, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad removed his foreign diplomat. Some suspect that the reason is because he was much closer to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. What that could mean, I don't know, but I would suspect that there is some strife at the top. And there were all those protests. I believe that the opposition still exists. It might not be as strong, but I think the seeds are there. Another large upset will probably ignite more opposition strife. There are even high clerics that are known to be sympathetic to the opposition. Iran wants us to see them as a unified front, but a strong government does not need to use the brutal tactics that Iran is known to use to keep their people in line.
North Korea is mostly a cult of personality. Kim Jong-il; and soon his son, Kim Jong-un; leads North Korea with no opposition that I am aware of. So, if I have to guess where the next conflict will be, my money is on North Korea.
