'Da Mullet' came from my collage days.

I sported a massive skullet that went 3/4 of the way down my back.

The name really stuck when my class highjacked a room full of computers for counter strike. 20 person lan party! w00t!

I was facing off against one my class mates in a one on one in a tight hallway. He ambushed me with a shotgun and I only had my pistol out... yet... I won. The angry cry from my classmate rang out through the room "DAMN MULLET ARMOUR!!!"

Since then, its just stuck!

A couple of friends and I decided to slap the title Darth into a new username, and Achaeron was the coolest sounding word that came to mind. Couldn't remember where I heard it at the time, but looked it up and it turns out I just misspelled one of the greek rivers of hell

I got mine thanks to Yahtzee on Zero Punctuation. More specifically, his famous review of SSBB. And I roughly quote:

"The problem with playing it alone is that when you finally get your mates around to play you've suddenly become THAT GUY. Don't pretend you don't know what I mean. THAT GUY whose so much better than everyone else because he plays it on his own, the loser. Suddenly you're not in it for fun anymore, and the gholish grins of your uncordinated friends fill you with contempt. Soon you seek out other THAT GUYs for the sake of a challenge, and then you're lost, you're a FAN BOY, congratulations."

Then you get the Nintendo part from his hatred of Nintendo Fan Boys, also seen in this review.

I was told by a friend that this name would make my avatar in True Crime: Streets of LA (or some name like that) a smoking blindfolded donkey. Didn't work unfortunately but its been my username on anything ever since. :)

When I was a much younger and more innocent gamer, I was trying to work on my handle as I came up with the name for my PSN account. I wanted something that didn't rely on x's, 420's, and 69's. I decided to pull from one of my favorite novels, The Once and Future King, and take a handle from one of the characters (Gaheris, or something along those lines), a brave and valiant knight. Turns out I picked the wrong character, mixed him up with his similarly named brother, and that due to the annoying text typing tool the PSN had, misspelled it anyway. I realized this only after I pressed accept. However, I figured that since no one else has a name like it, I decided to keep it from then onward.

And so, my name on every console, forum, etc. comes from a brief lapse of idiotic incompetency.

Nice, I loved that story when I read it. Thank you, Harlan Ellison for the nightmare fuel you have provided.

Silentsmoke1990- is just a play on my personality and gameplay styles, in most FPS's if smoke grenades are an option, I take em. and I prefered silenced weapons above all else. 1990 is the year I was born :p.
it's also a play on the fact that despite being a big bugger, i'm sneaky as hell when I need to be.

I forget if I answered this already, but my name is based off underground rapper Sage Francis. I liked the name, put my own spin to it, and there it is.

Partly that humour and comedy are hugely important to me, and partly as a kinda 'early warning' that I might slip into darker areas for my witty comments sometimes.

I figure if you read the name 'Sense of Tumour' then you already had a warning that it might not be entirely inoffensive.

Vothros = cesspool in greek, and thriller is thriller. The initial idea was for the name of a mock death metal band which was never created.

Edit:

My nickname in RL.

But mostly everywhere else I use Visceral,:), I like it cause of the letter formation and the way it sounds (makes a for something cool when people need to call out your name in game), but most of all I like the meaning of it :).
