Why? Because Space Marines. That's why. So what if they're fanatically religious and ridiculously macho. That is of less than no consequence. They need no explanation any more than a gun that shoots guns that shoot missiles needs an explanation.

They just are, and that is enough. Plus their quotes contain the most awesome.

Chaos Daemons, gotta love being the ultimate bad guy in the galaxy; watching people brick it when Soul Grinders are put on the table is also very fun.

With the new release of Spearhead though, I'm beginning to fall in love with the plucky Imperial Guard; full tank armies and now all the plastic Russ kits. My local GW will see a lot of tanks when I'm playing

Since my last post in here back in April, I have since started a new army.

Spoiler: These Guys.

I love how they can be adapted to fit any play style and upgraded to destroy any opponent.
Oh, and the Choas Marines thought they're Daemon Princes were scary, They can align with a Daemon army/God, get more firepower, and taken as a Heavy Support. So 2 HQs can still be taken. Unless you have a Herald. Then you can have up to 4 HQs.

With the announced release of a Warhammer 40.000 MMO, the upcoming "Space Marine" 3rd person action game, and the success of the Dawn of War franchise, I thought it'd be interesting to see which race has the most love from the gaming crowd.

It doesn't matter if you play the tabletop wargame, the computer games, or if you just like the background, throw in your opinion, and let us know who you love and why.

My choice is the Imperium. It's very hard for me to select a specific branch within the Imperium, as it has been my faction of choice for nearly two decades. Since I started playing in 1992, I played with Blood Angels, and I still have them today, but the Imperial Guard, an army I started in the early 2000's, has gained my love and respect due to some stellar performances on the tabletop. I even have an aquila tattoo!

But ultimately I have to go with the faction that started it all for me. The Blood Angels. I absolutely love their background. A chapter that idolizes physical perfection and aesthetics, but which suffers from an internal flaw bigger than even some Traitor Chapters. The Red Thirst, that psychic echo of Sanguinius' brutal death which reduces a Blood Angel to a blood-craving beast.

Their recent retcon upon the re-release of Space Hulk was retarted (95% of the chapter died fighting the Tyranids?! And no-one knew that until now... uh...), but the just-released COdex brings them back to their former glory, and then some.

So, yeah. I'm a Son of Sanguinius first, and a Guardsman second. Be that as it may, my choice is the Imperium.

Space Marines, specifically Dark Angels. I had a Dark Angels 40k army waaaaay back in the 90's, complete with a detachment of Deathwing Terminators.

I do love me a bit of Tau tech - just the right amount of mech, and I love the armour plating style. Not such a fan of their ships and tanks - would prefer there to be more angled plates rather than the whole fish aesthetic, but hey - can't win them all

I don't play tabletop anymore, but back in the day, I used to collect Eldar because I loved their background, the fall from grace and their fight to survive. Coupled with the fact that they have the most awesome-looking vehicles. (New Fire Prism anyone?)

I've got a few Space Marines, Orks and Catachan as well, Marines and Orks because I got some box set, and the Catahcan because I like their style.
