ARGH! So many votes on L.A. Noire. I hope it doesn't bomb. It looks bad ass gameplay wise and animation wise. Also, Last Guardian no one has heard of. This is not a good sign.

Of those on the list, I would say Bulletstorm. I will admit L.A. Noire and Last Guardian are gambles but Their dev teams have a solid fanbase that watch them so I think they are both safe. I wouldn't doubt Team Ico's main money grab is gonna be in domestic sales.

Homefront probably.

And unfortunately. I think Brink will undersell.

I'm sick of people complaining about stagnation in the market whilst simultaneously ignoring anything that is a bit different.

I hope you nuggets prove me wrong and go and buy the game. Because it looks so damn good.
dont worry, i am going to buy BRINK because it actually looks fresh(and miniguns!)
honestly I think L.A noir will undersell, but be a kickass game.
also Home front and battlefield 3 will most likely undersell.

Don't really see the franchise crashing and burning that quickly... first person shooters have been a popular genre for close to 20 years and people aren't tired of them yet. Furthermore, people have generally been happy with MW, MW2, and Black Ops; so the next one is going to open big... even if it gets savaged by critics.

Activision basically has one Get Out Of Jail Free card. One CoD game that can be a smash hit even if it pisses off the great bulk of its fanbase... and we'll see that coming to pass on the MP scene. It's the one after that could crash and burn.
FPS has been popular for 20 years but for the last 6 years it's been a monopoly, and that's not good.
Doesn't come close to the dominance of the platformer during the NES and SNES eras.

From my own experience, I don't pick up too many FPS these days and I have absolutely no problem finding good games to buy. Sandbox games seem to be the big go-to genre these days.

Fear 3 won't do well and neither will Homefront even though Homefront looks pretty cool. That's just my guess, though.

And stop reminding me about all the awesome games coming out that I don't have the money for. It's just teasing me.

Brink... so far I've seen two locations. One was demonstration of the SMART system in an airport area, which was decent enough, but looked like an airport lounge. And the other was this one.

The SMART system looks pretty cool, but that's a control scheme which will spread like wildfire if it works well. The problem is that Container City map. I've seen several minutes of video from this location and it looks and plays pretty much like everything else out there. Even the airport video doesn't really show that many ways the SMART system would dramatically alter combat.

Crysis 2 has a nano-suit that gives you super-powers. Homefront promises to make the battlefields more visceral by adding civilians. While the games look like every other CoD wannabe, I can see elements that could easily rise above those roots. With Brink... CoD with a class system and better control scheme.

They could still wow me with some of the other locations, but Brink is looking like a fairly major dud IMO. Simply see no evidence that they'll introduce any gameplay elements or story elements that will make the game stand out from the crowd.

May I say Dynasty Warriors 7?
You can call me an ignorant, but I have never heard of that game or played any of those games.

Most of the people who play COD have no idea that it changes developers every year, or that Infinity Ward isn't making the next one. Also most of the people who play COD are not in the same demographic as those who play Elder Scrolls and Mass Effect. Neither of those things will have much to do with the success of the next call of duty game.
You got a good point, I know a lot of people don't know about developers, at least not all of them, but there´s also a lot of people complaining how bad and buggy are the COD games, but then again those persons still buy those games and every DLC no matter what price.

COD is like a sport game, Same graphics, same mechanics, launch every year and one or two new things.

The biggest ones on those list look like the Bioware ones and MW3. I don't really think MW3 will be a good game though, and chances are I won't be getting it (I don't even know why I got Black Ops tbh, probably just because my friends got it), much of the creative talent have left to EA. Treyrch can create a nice tweak but they always needed old-IW to get the ball rolling. Plus Mw3 (or whatever the next CoD is) will likely be made in less than a year, by three or even four different developers (Treyarch, new-IW, Raven, Sledgehammer), so who knows what the fuck is going to happen. Although if MW3 goes to hell, hopefully Activision will give them a nice 3 yr development cycle to let them sort their shit out and produce the most universally loved CoD game since CoD 4.

Battlefield 3 is probably my most anticipated on that list, if only because the devs don't seem as complacent as Bioware. Me3 will either be their best RPG ever or more likely it will be allowed to get away with being Gears of Star Wars now with even less RPG elements. I personally don't care since I never thought of ME as a hardcore RPG or even as a serious story, but I'm sure tons of angry fans will be demanding that it be as intuitive as the Windows Registry with 16 completely different endings based on your dialogue options with random entertainment district NPCs. I'm also looking forward to DX3, but as above I don't really want to get too nitpicky about it being omg teh b3st gaem evor. I will be fine if it simply keeps the "here's the objective, complete it" with many solutions feel of DX1.

Skyrim and Gears 3 will sell decently, but they have a lot of fan skepticism behind them, so they won't be as big a hit as their previous ones.

F3AR is an incredibly obnoxious title for a video game.

Brink looks interesting, but time will tell. Probably one of those cult-following games.

Homefront looks like a CoD cash-in.

Portal 2 is completely unnecessary, just like Bioshock 2. However, the Half Life universe has quite a few more loose ends, so it could turn out fine.

Why all the hate towards Homefront and Bulletstorm?
OT: I also wish for Call of (fucking) Duty, the PC version is still rampant with bugs and can still hardly run after a few months and they're already thinking of releasing another COD. It might not be over-saturation of FPS but maybe of COD. (This may or may not be due to my ever-confusing grudge with the Call of Duty series)

Well Duke Nukem Forever has something the others don't have. Everyone is curious about it, some for nostalgia, some for curiosity.
Personally I'm in the curious guys and let me tell you I will buy the game, not just for curiosity but because I'm tired of FPS trying to be so damn serious and also the campaign will be more than 16 hours long. That against 3 or 4 hours of frustration because the AI is so ridiculous (yes i'm talking about COD). So this game might fresh things up

I can see Brink failing, not that I want it to, it looks AWESOME, and I'm definitely getting it, but, because most FPS players are either CoD or Halo whores I don't see this doing well!

Depending on when they release it Deus Ex will either sell brilliantly or not at all. And even though they're my most anticipated games I think that Catherine and The Last Guardian will absolutely BOMB no matter what.

I've got a nasty feeling that LA Noire won't sell as well as hoped.
Rockstar is pretty damn good at marketing. They'll step it up closer to launch. Look at how well Red Dead Redemption did, and it's not like Red Dead Revolver was a blockbuster.

I don't know why, but this post and your Avatar made me laugh. Maybe because a few people are saying DNF will fail.

OT: A tough one, but I'd say Homefront or The Last Guardian. The first one because what I've seen hasn't blown me away. the second because Team Ico make quite particular games. Now they've got a lot of good PR from making "Unappreciated Classic" games, and there may be a bigger marketing push, but the mainstream crowd (where you get the big money from) may not be interested in the style. Ico and SotC didn't do as well as they should have done, and maybe it'll happen again.
