Which "cool" band do you detest the most?

Ummmm... coldplay(Chris Martin = COCK), The Kooks, Razorlight, Nickelback, Simple Plan, Usher(SSDD), Cascada(UK only i think), Basshunter(same again).
The last two are very same-y tacky euro plop which you could knock up on a keyboard in about 20 minutes. Any artist who isn't really pushing the envelope can suck the chocolate starfish

ok, in my opinion, a "cool" band is a band that got instantly popular and everyone idolizes. Well not everyone just a whole lot of horny or desperate girls and some of the gay community. This is the way i feel about the Jonas Brothers. In my opinion they are possibly the worst band. Now, dont get me wrong, they used to be good. In fact, i liked thier old stuff such as Mandy or Year 3000, but now they are just trying to be like all other bands like fall Out Boy ect. and now you cant go two seconds without hearing the name Nick Jonas just like High School Musical or Miley Cyrus. i remember when Fall Out Boy got really big and everyone all I heard was the name Pete Wentz, but since the Jonas Brothers came its practically impossible for anyone to recive that kind of recognition. Also I think it might have to do with the fact that Pete Wentz is with Ashlee Simpson (Wentz). Some people dont like this but I think they go perfectly together. Think about it, a person who cant really play bass married a person who cant really sing. Okay, I'm done with Fall Out Boy because personally I like them, thier songs are catchy, Andy Hurley is a beast, and they are one of the only GOOD bands left with a fat lead singer who sings great. Now back to the Jonas Brothers. Now, it seems that all everyone cares about is Nick Jonas and no one cares about his two brothers Kevin and Joe. So maybe the band should be called Nick Jonas and the two brothers no one gives two shits about. So I guess my point really is, if you are a "cool" band then you should just put up your guitar or whatever instrument you possiply play whether it be drums, piano, or even the didgeridoo and just satop playing music because people dont really like your music your just a scene kid, and if you listen to so called "cool" band(s) then you need to either: 1) Cut your ears off because they are poisoned by such horrible music or 2) Listen to good music and hopefully that you get cured of all your bad tastes in music. Now, I'm not a doctor yet, but if you are one of these people I talked about, I recommend a dosage of some "good" punk, metal, rap, or whatever the hell you are into besides country because that only makes you worse, and watch a little bit of Scrubs. After that you should have great taste in music and television and all your friends will gaze in amazement as you are now called the guy who doesn't like the Jonas Bro... I mean...crappy bands, and people will now want to hang out with you more because of your new taste in music and television and they will want to listen and watch with you.....but not at the same time.

If I had to choose I'd probably go for Enter Shikari. I don't know one person that likes them and I cannot begin to comprehend how they even became vaguely popular. They were guests on Soccer AM for gods sake! The bands there are normally just forgettable, faceless, mass produced indy crap, but at least they're not screamo, totally talentless metal wannabe puberty victims like Enter Shikari.
I just really don't get what is good about their songs. Singing sounds like ass, guitars and drums sound like ass, lyrics aren't insightful or thought provoking in any way. What is there to like?! If anyone out there does actually like them please explain to me what the attraction is because I can't figure it out.

They do however put on an awesome live show! I totally agree with you that the lyrics are totally disposable and bordering on aweful and the screamo parts aren't great, but when the lead singer actually sings he is pretty good. They act all depressed and crap and make depressing lyrics to go with minimal action from any instruments. drums stick to hitting the same barrel a couple of times. guitar just plays the same chords over and over, bass, one note, while vocalists belt out lyrics that make you feel sorry for them because, for example, "My girl left me." I can understand the style of wearing all black, some people just look good in it. but seriously, what do you have to whine about. You go around the world, playing music and doing what you love, can get away with just about anything, have a million and one girls that want to sleep with you (unless your a girl in said bands, in which case, guys), and tons of money. Right now, my least favorite band is Pantera. Not 80s hair metal Pantera; 90s Pantera where they're shredding like fudge Kirk Hammet clones with an overdose of Dave Mustaine. The vocalist voices irritates me, I don't see what's so special about Dimebag's guitar playing, and I could care less about the drummer and bassists.

I had an ex who was bat-shit bonkers for that band and we'd argue constantly over the fact that they have no musical talent and the singer is tone deaf. Pretty much throw a dart at a giant dartboard decorated with popular artists, and I'll hate what's on there at least 90% of the time. Unless people like Tom Waits and Frank Zappa have huge pieces. Then the dartboard's based on talent, and I refuse to throw hate darts at it, for I have terrible aim and if it's based on talent, then the smallest portions would be those popular artists.
I really cant stress how much I detest bands like MCR, Fall Out Boy, Simple Plan, Hawthorne Heights, Amy Whinehouse etc. etc. etc. Whether any member of any of these kind of bands posess the slightest inkling of telent matters not, they focus whatever they have on the making of shitty, mass produced music with the depth of a teaspoon. Oh caress thine bleeding heart! You hate your parents? Why's that? Aww, didnt they buy you the exact right colour little sportscar you were promised for going back to school? If you really hate your life that much, seek help, go have a little seachange, stop whinging and threatening to die.
I for one have a pretty varied taste in music, from death metal to drum n bass. If I band has a good sound I'll give it a go.

Besides generic Emo bands (MCR, Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte), I actually detest Coldplay.
It's not that they're bad, as such, it's just that my sister plays their songs on full blast on her stereo, so it's really annoying for me now.
Other than that, the only song of theirs that I can listen to is 'Clocks'.

Well atleast you have a rockish music store near you, I would have to travel 45 minutes to get to one because all that are around me are mostly hip-hop which I hate with a passion.pieeater911 said:
