for me, its Halo (followed by LoZ), it's like epic in music form, every damned song from every game, but here are my favorites:

Well i like a halo 2 and ODST soundtrack, Fallout NW ( also had cool F1-2 background songs and Big iron), Scribblenauts music (very relaxing ) and Alan Wake ( cool rock ) with Deadly Premonition (cool twin peaks style music )

I liked Halo, but to me, the greatest game music was Tetris. This may have something to do with the fact that my mother played a lot of tetris when I was in the womb (oddly enough, when it was my little sister, my mother did colouring book and my little sister is quite good at art) Probably not. Anyway, Tetris was the first game I played and it's music has stuck with me for a long time, even today I have a remix of the music on my music player.

Other ones I liked were the mario theme tune, Sonic (the green grassy level and then that blue sludge level that came afterwards, can't remember the name) and I'd like to say Brutal legend but that game used music that was made by other people so I don't think it counts - I liked the special solos you could do for crazy attacks; the facemelting one being my favourite

First off, The Warcraft series, has some awsome music, even WoW has awsome music... Parasite Eve also has some friggin awsome tunes. Oh, and Starcraft(1 [Terran, Zerg]) are awsome.

The Final Fantasy series has had some amazing music, and Metal Gear's tunes have definitely been memorable, but the piece of video game music that I have enjoyed the most was Still Alive from Portal.

Going with Final Fantasy, the scores of games 7 through 12, were amazing, beautiful and just plain bloody great.

The music to any Final Fantasy game is usually good. I usually get the soundtracks.

I liked a lot; Mass Effect especially, and Assassin's Creed, as well as many others, already mentioned here.

But overall I think the Ace Combat series has had the best consistently good soundtrack I have heard, probably because it is all instrumental mixes of rock, electric, techno, and some really good orchestra that make it unique. And it's always good.

I perfer majora's mask, simply because I have a thing for mindscrew and love the whole depressing, going from nice and cheery to pure nightmare fuel theme of it's music.

I loved the music in the mass effect series. Always perfectly placed to set the ton and create atmosphere.

Have you ever been to Video Games Live? Or at least heard of it? The conductor (Jack Wall) is the one who wrote the music for ME. Probably one of the coolest concerts I've ever been to!
