Battletoads. I would be curious to see what a current gen Battletoads would play/sound like.
This would be an interesting one.
Also, I'd like to see a modern System Shock. I struggled getting 2 to work and think an updated version could be cool.

Depends. The Tony Hawk franchise is now naught but a pile of shit thanks to the horrible sequels it received, but some games have great potential if they are put in the right hands. And I know that the 3rd game in a series is still a sequel; at no point did I deny that.
You're damn right there, all games have always got good potential when put into the right hands, but with EA and other corporate moneymachines running the business that rarely happens. Allthough the rare diamond sequel does show up (timesplitters 3, half life 2, assassins creed 2, the elder scrolls 4, fallout 3 (allthough it's miles away from it's predecessors)).

Look, I only ever tell people to use the search bar if it's extreme, but for fucks sake! This is getting ridiculous. Truly, truly ridiculous.

OT: Spartan: Total Warrior. That was a great game with great ideas. The combat was... awesome, the story wasn't too unbearable and and the combat was awesome.
Dude, you need to chill out. This is the second thread I've ever made and I don't like being accused of forum necromancy.
Not necromancy, just clogging up the forums. It's a good question, it's just the one that everyone arrives at. Being told to "chill out", though, just cause you're new and making unoriginal threads that clog up the forums is even more ridiculousness.

The biggest problem with a thread like this is that they stop other, interesting threads from getting through yet remain popular. Also, I associate them with poor grammar, which is just distasteful. /halfjoke

I guess it is only half a joke as it's missing humor, which is generally regarded to be important in "jokes".

I mean, if you're posting in these threads doesn't mean you are actually stopping other threads from getting through yourself?

OH wait, IT DOES! :p

Freedom Fighers. It ended practically yelling in our faces that there was gonna be a huge sequel.

Freedom Fighters and Battle Realms. FF needs a finish and BR at least needs a spiritual successor type of deal, it was an amazing RTS, and one I still play today, it just kinda feels right, and it gets punishing if you don't mix up your units and tactics a little. I may enjoy C&C but BR made you think, it wasn't just about maxing out, you had to be clever too, not saying C&C and other RTS's are dumb, just saying BR was different... and awesome!

I would like to see a sequal to "Metal Fatigue" with updated graphics and more robot parts. Maybe I am the only one, but I really liked that game. For some reason the graphics gets all messed up when I try to play it with Windows 7.

After playing some PS2 classics last night (Bully, Psychonauts, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect) I started thinking about games that never got any much deserved sequels.

So Escapists, which game series would you like to see continued?
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, Parasite eve II, The Thing, Stubbs the Zombie, and System Shock II.

Right... so spiderman then? You want another mediocre spiderman game, basically is what you're saying.

That's currently in development as we speak. I can't freaking wait. I think the Resistance series has alot more going for it than Halo ever will, the way the story's told is great and I like how the main character isn't the only focus of the games, especially not after two.

seconded. battlefront was an awesome game. u were actually in a battle, not by urself or with a little squad. big, open and lots of different classes. plus space battles were awesome. and i only got it just b4 360 came out and didnt get a chance to play it online.... 32 players + on 360 or however many on ps3's. madness
This, I put so many hours into those two games. Just playing through the campaigns with my friend was great

In all seriousness, the Jak and Daxter games deserve a proper sequel on the PS3.
None of this handheld bullshit.
Yes indeed it does. I also think Shadow of the Collous could use a sequel.

Except Prototype was awesome and deserving of a sequel. Sandbox games + Superpowers = Win. The moral ambiguity of it was rather refreshing, compared to most people being all "EVIL OR GOOD, WHICH DO YOU CHOOSE?!"

No One Lives Forever 3 needs to be made, because there are plot threads that need to be resolved, and because it's an enjoyable game that's simply fun to play. There are too few games that are just fun to play, and that aren't all grimdark.

Homeworld 3 should be made because it's one of only two emotionally engaging RTSes I've ever played, and because I need Space RTSes like cows need hamburger buns: desperately.

Speaking of Space RTSes, I'd love to see a graphically updated sequel to Sins of a Solar Empire with a campaign and much larger skill tree, although the game's basically got one gametype, so a campaign would be kinda hard.

Remember how I mentioned emotionally engaging RTSes? I'd love a new World in Conflict, but with maybe just a little basebuilding mechanics, as well as a unit/levelup feature, and maybe the ability to control leader units. Somewhere between the original Dawn of War with the storytelling prowess and action-RTS style of World in Conflict, set in that same, somewhat realistic universe.

System Shock 3 would be great, just to convince people that Bioshock isn't as original as they'd like to think. Also because I'd like one-more go-around with SHODAN.

Oni 2 would be utterly, ridiculously awesome, as we can do so much better with anime-styled graphics these days than we could before, and because I imagine all the cutscenes would be fully animated in cinematic FPS (27?) and because I love the combat in that game so much. Flipping a guy into another guy all by yourself and watching them both die is amazing and cathartic.

Half Life deserves a sequel, because it was a great game and I really liked the whole "science gone wrong" aspect of it. I'm really interested to learn more about the G-Man and government conspiracies and why the Vortigaunts were trying to kill us and who this Ne-whateverhisnameis was and use another bee-gun and, man, I loved those giant monsters! The enemy variety was brilliant, and never mind that the levels often made no sense; the game was LONG, and very consistent. I loved how they focused less on crafting some cinematic story and more on creating this atmosphere of tension and fear. This idea of feeling like you're just some insignificant scientist guy who just happens to get his hand on some guns and tries fighting for his life... it's refreshing. I don't want to be some super-powered god who can do anything and has only one weapon (like Halo's sword) and has mandatory vehicles (again like Halo) I really like it. I think it's the perfect game.

...and man, the two expansions were great, and I'd love to see more of Adrian, and I hope one day Barney will meet up with Gordon.
