Conker's Bad Fur Day and Killer Instinct
there are a lot of rumors that rare is working on ki3 for the 360, and most of those rumors have not been dispelled either. its also been reported that ms is porting ki 1 and 2 to xbla as well, and as popular as a series as ki was in the past it seems likely that they would eventually do that.

in any case, id like to see a new breath of fire game. they weren't the best but i always enjoyed them, and towards the end capcom started taking a lot of new directions with the series.

and definitely a new mega man legends game.

I would love to see a sequel to Bullet Witch. For all the shit people give it, it was an original idea that could have worked if given time and money. It could have been a top rate action game if they had cleaned up the combat and improved the voice acting and plot...

Also, a sequel (or at least a new game) from the Tactics Ogre series would be much appreciated. Tactics Ogre: The Knight Of Lodis is one of my favorite games of all time, and it's technically the newest in the series while being 9 years old.

By the way, you're allowed to say that you like a game, but not that you hate a game, because people generally don't appreciate it when you shit on their favorite games for no reason. Feel free to offer reasons why you didn't like the game to counter my reasons why I loved it, if you feel inclined to.
I'm not shitting on anyone's favorite game for no reason. I played it, and hated it. "No reason" applies to people who just bash stuff without ever even having played it.

Furthermore, I again point out the double standard here. Liking a game is fine, but not liking it is "shitting on it"? Could you possibly make it any more obvious that you don't like people simply because they disagree with your opinion about a video game?
Yes, there is a double standard. As I said before, people generally dislike others who shit on their favorite games for no reason. I'm not saying that you had no reason of disliking the game, I'm simply saying that something caused you to tell me how very much you disliked a game in a thread where we were talking about games that deserved sequels. You had no reason to do this; it's fine that you have such an opinion, but they should be saved for threads entitled "Games that don't deserve sequels".

You also failed to state any reasons why you disliked the game. You simply said, "I played it, and hated it." This shows lack of reason behind hating a game. Perhaps you do have reasons for disliking this game, but I really just don't care anymore. You're obviously trying very hard to make some miraculous observation about the human psyche, and I'm done being a part of your experiment. The fact of the matter is, there was absolutely no reason to show your hate for a game that I had just expressed my love for other than to try and get under my skin; it was unnecessary and uncalled for.

Metal Gear Solid

Bear with me... remember how with that PS1 classic there were Two different endings one where (OK spoilers abound) Meryl lives if you resist the torture, another where she dies if you submit. Now MGS2 and MGS4 were made based on assuming you took the "good" ending and to be frank... those games were a bit shit. The final cherry on top of that shit sandwich being Meryl wedding at the end of MGS4 *BARF*

How about another series set in an "alternate timeline" where Meryl IS killed by Ocelot and none of this Patriot bollocks ever comes up at all. Have Ocelot as the main bad guy and Snake on a revenge mission with Otacon mysteriously involved as he is seemingly recruited by Ocelot in his evil plans (maybe it turns out he's a double agent).

It just makes for a hell of a lot more interesting plot than a bunch of bullshit about Human Genome Project and fake democracy and secret organisations like The Patriots that would make Dan Brown blush.

God, a question that eternally haunts me. There's a difference between series that were discontinued for unknown reasons and one-off games that were never meant to have a sequel even if it had great potential.

Examples of the former:
Rival Schools
Powerstone
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!
Legacy of Kain
Shenmue (INCOMPLETE TRILOGY! RAAAAAAAGE!)
Tribes
Gargoyle's Quest
Zone of the Enders (IS ACTUALLY GETTING A PS3 SEQUEL, WOOHOO!)

Examples of the latter:
Jet Force Gemini
Hybrid Heaven
Chaos Legion
Ring of Red
GrimGrimoire
Vagrant Story
Legend of Dragoon
Battle Realms
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
I've got to agree with this. Mostly because I'm now so utterly against the idea of sequels except in certain situations. Far too often we see sequels to things that should never ever have gotten a sequel. I'm sorry to say it, but as good a game as Chrono Cross was, Chrono Trigger is one of those things that should never have gotten a sequel... EVER!

Chrono Trigger/Cross, and Mirror's Edge. Other than those, most of my favorite series have gotten sequels

I think Mirror's Edge is actually getting a sequel soon. Not sure though.

OT:
System Shock 2 (by that I don't mean BioShock, I mean a REAL sequel which surpasses SS2 standards, not dumbed them down for the console idiots), Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines and Undying.
The sequels that have been announced that I would seriously like to be released soon are American McGee's Alice and Thief 4.

Maybe Shadowrun (FPS), and definitely Chromehounds.

Edit: Oh, and Gladius for PS2. God I miss that game.

I know, right! The ending completely blindsided me! How could they leave us hanging like that?

Freedom Fighters. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again. There needs to be a game for this console generation that emphasizes actual guerilla warfare. Come on EA! Give us Freedom Fighters 2 already!

I was not trying to get under your skin with my post. I was just adding to the conversation. Nowhere did I see a sign that says "no disagreeing with people's ideas!"

And the reason for me not explaining why I didn't like the game is because you've made it more than clear from the get-go that you actually have no interest in why I didn't like it. You're just mad because someone has a different opinion of a game than you do, so no matter how thoroughly I were to review the game and my grievances with it, you'd still be annoyed and take jabs about how I'm shitting on your favorite game. Therefore I see no reason to take extra time out of my day to do so as you'd clearly show the same level of disdain for my opinion as you do now.

I'd love to see a sequel to Prototype. Mistakes were made with the first, in that as soon as you got in close combat with a snarling pink thing twice your height, it got a little fiddley on the control side of things. But the concept and the freedom of movement are the closest we've had since the surprisingly fun Spiderman 2 last generation. If they could rectify the combat controls a little, that'd be stellaaaaaaaar!

Perhaps I've been looking at this whole thing wrong; I suppose I was just curious as to why you felt the need to say this:

Ugh, is there like an anti-preorder option? Can I sign up to tell Sony and Sucker Punch that I will never buy that game? inFamous is probably the last game on earth that deserves a sequel.
in the first place. To me, it felt like you were attacking a game I liked for no good reason, which, in turn, felt like you were trying to start a fight with me personally, as if I had not suggested that InFamous deserved a sequel, you most likely would not have posted the above response at all, correct?

But maybe you weren't attacking me, or the game for that matter. Maybe you felt unhappy with your purchase, so you wanted me, a fan of the game, to convince of how enjoyable it was, to make you feel better about having bought it. Or maybe you were simply doing a social experiment to see the effect of doing the exact opposite of what the thread asked for, by offering a contrary opinion and stating a game that you felt did not deserve a sequel, when the thread's topic was for games that do. Perhaps I'm looking much too far into this, and you simply stated your disdain for the game to get a conversation going.

I guess, in the end, I can't really know for sure why you did it, which brings me to the conclusion that you couldn't possibly know why I responded to you. I know it seems like I just don't like people with contrary opinions to mine, and though that may be true, I actually would very much like for you to offer the reasons that you didn't like the game. Before you do though, I must warn you that I will more than likely offer counter points, in the hopes of getting you to like the game, since, as you've said, there is a double standard in the liking/hating of games, and if I can sway you to at least being neutral towards it, I will most certainly try.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, by the way, and I hope that we can continue this conversation in a less hostile manner, which admittedly, probably did come mostly from me, as I wanted so badly for you to see what I saw in the game. Even if you can't though, I would like your in-depth opinion, so I can perhaps take it into consideration in my own views on the game.

Exactly. It wasn't even the cliff-hanger that most games have. The story just ended in the middle of an action scene.

Psychonauts, inFAMOUS, Prototype, heck, I'd even like to see one for Beyond Good and Evil! (I heard they wee making one, but I've seen barely anything else on it.)

Also, I'm wondering if/when they'll ever make a Kingdom Hearts 3.
