I prefer listening to tales about the Grim Reaper and the Japanese kami the most.
I think Odin was probably the coolest
I like the whole idea of Karma and reincarnation the most as a real life thing
overall the Greek Pantheon felt the most godly and awesome to me.

Well as a Christian I should probably go for my own god but that'd be cheating... plus he's great and everything but the ancient Jews weren't as good at storytelling as the Vikings or Egyptians. I'll go for Odin I think. He rides around on a spider horse and everything he does, up to an including his death by being eaten by a giant demonic wolf is just plain awesome.

Definately anything Norse... They are by far the best! The Greek and Roman gods are just a bit too Soap-opera for my liking, Norse are all just epic!

It's between Odin and Anubis, but I think Odin wins in the end. Do I really need to explain why?!

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but I love Coyote from Gunnerkrigg Court, every aspect of his character is just awesome (maybe I just love me some all powerful trickster gods) :D and it doesn't hurt that Tom Siddel's art style freakin' rocks on every page with Coyote in it ;D

ok ok last one, I just love how the art style changes depending on the setting in this web comic :p

The god damn Batman.

Sorry, what? Oh, favourite god.

The Batman.

...
I can't pick the Batman?

Well, Odin then. JRR Tolkien got inspiration for Gandalf by the picture of Odin disguised as a wanderer.

Also, he got CROWS, MAN. FUCKING CROWS.

Hm. I'm not attracted to any specific deity, either from religious texts or works of fiction. I'd say some sort of Bizarro version of Azathoth nobody wrote about. Screw this "Crawling Nuclear Chaos" nonsense, I want to approach things in a positive light.

I'd go for something that's similar to Azathoth, but that symbolizes raw potential, pure creative force. Something that, ideally, has no real intellect to speak of, because otherwise you've got yet another judgmental asshat who'd threaten to smite my ass just because I didn't adhere to some obscure set of rules.

I don't believe in this concept that we've got some sort of atonement to do from Day One, and I certainly don't buy into hardcore Christianity's notion that God is a vengeful idiot with an itchy trigger finger or a particularly heavy Banhammer. I might not believe in this stuff outright anymore, but I remember my religion classes telling me God was basically love personified. Vengeance, wrath or it being possible to displease him never entered the picture for me, as I was told that God is basically tolerance past all forms of tolerance. He was supposed to be this guy who'd never judge and who'd understand that hey, living's kinda hard at times, man. It isn't always easy to make the right choices, you know? Thinking that God's there to smite the wicked is really a roundabout way of saying you've got anger or intolerance issues; because the fact is we've all been "wicked" at one moment or another in our lives.

At least, in my humble opinion. Make of that what you will.

I'm mainly behind the Greek Gods. Specifically Hades. He's not cruel, he just does his job. Amaterasu is pretty cool as well.

As a fairy tale, which is what all religions are imo, I very much like the Norse mythology of gods best. It's so exciting, like LoTR's on acid :-D

Slaanesh. All the hedonistic pleasure you can endure, and more.
Yeah, gotta be Slaanesh. His/her origin story is a real eye opener.

Zeus is fun one to read about, Cyric is also one of my favourites.

Profound sense of meaning and existence? Comforting notions of life beyond death? A good and just ruling? Has a Jackals head?

Which of the endless supply of deities and divine religious figures do you take a preference to?

I dont necessarily mean "What is your religion".....just which big cheese in the sky you take the biggest liking to or enjoy hearing legends about?

I personally can't get enough of the legends of Zeus...and the war with the titans in particular. Did you know that Zeus' father Kronos ate his children for fear of reprisal? Because he himself castrated his OWN father Oranous with a scythe?
Yeah that and he kept banging his mother. Yay for the greeks.
