Which video game series will have the most sequels? I have my votes on either Mario Party, Metroid, or Resident Evil.

They can only go on for so long. I'm actually going to put my money down on The Legend of Zelda series. Since none of them are really connected besides phantom hourglass and windwaker. So they don't really have to worry about writing an ending to an incredibly long series like the Resident Evil writers would. Also that's probably the best IP Nintendo has going for them, Mario didn't sell better than Twilight Princess on the Wii.

Pokemon, Nintendo has gotten away with only making marginal improvements so far.

Probably Resident Evil games, they could say that Wesker was a clone of the real Albert Wesker and make 15 more games out of it, and remake the 2nd one a few more times.

I guess I'd say Zelda as well. It's weird that they just keep making the same game over and over again, but I actually really like them all.

At least megaman seems to have stopped. I'm pretty sure it got to the point where Capcom just had a "make megaman game" button in their office and the whole thing would just rip tilesets, make some random bosses and throw levels together.

Megaman X was so badass though...

Sorry that I'm kind of staggering from topic haha.

Pokemon can almost literally go on forever, so i would say that.

Resident evil will be hard, since they just killed the main antagonist, and tied up most of the loose ends.

They COULD do that, but then they would be just stretching out the plot even more than they already have. But i donno, maybe it would work.

Mario Party. Capcom will hopefully be smart and end RE, Metroid maybe because its Nintendo, but Mario Party already has, how many? 10 and it wont stop.

Instead of stomping on the cockroach, Nintendo feeds it, and builds it a luxury hotel.

Mario Party is fun at parties, not sitting on the couch playing by yourself.

Hmm, maybe that's why Party is in the title?

But I hope Zelda goes on for a long time.

They've got to run out of colors eventually.

I'm not sure, personally. Maybe Pokemon or GTA. I would say Final Fantasy, but putting it in this thread sort of sounds like an insult(as in saying it's overdone), and I do quite like it.

Final Fantasy has about 39 freaking games under their belt right now and they show no signs of stopping. Expect more generic RPG love in the future.

Madden NFL.

Think about it, there's one released every year like clock work and that trend isn't going to stop any time soon.

Well I hope Madden ends by 2013 (or whenever the exclusive contract ends). NFL 2K5 was pretty darn good, and it's always good to see some competition (look at all the other sports games!).

I think GTA could last for quite a while, considering that they are all unrelated, and it can be applied to different storylines, cities, or even universes. I could imagine a LEGO GTA.

I'm gonna say Mario.

Just because as long as Nintendo is a company, Mario games will be made.

i know for a fact the Final Fantasy will never stop making games cause it's got a huge fan base and even though it is the same plot points just a different time place and characters.
