At this point it is safe to say that Diablo 3 has the most ridiculous development cycle in history. But that is besides the point.
Recently I came across a game called: TORCHLIGHT
Made by the Diablo 1 Dev team. It is coming out on October 27th 2009 on STEAM for 20 dollars. There is 3 classes and some really solid (new) game play concepts. At 20 Dollars I am definitely giving it a shot. By the time I get sick of it, hopefully Mass Effect 2 will be out.

- That is how I plan on spending my gaming time until Diablo 3 comes out. What about you guys? What is your game plan?

Isn't Torchlight that game where they copypasted Diablo and gave it a pretty graphics upgrade?

Uhhhhhh www.torchlightgame.com and then there is a little about tab there... I know its hard but click once on it and do some reading. Torchlight's classes are Alchemist Vanquisher and Destroyer... and there are so many neat additions... I don't know where you get this from.

I played Titan Quest for a whiiiile with some friends - the bugs just ruined it completely. Wait till you get to the expansion segment - bugs galore. Also items kind of suck at high level... really once you beat it once it becomes quite borring.

And actually to Jobobob - TQ is the diablo with pretty graphics thing. It doesn't build anything onto it - other than the class system which actually feels kind of gimmicky.

How about this, while waiting for Diablo 3, I played Borderlands, which is like Diablo with guns.

While I wait for Diablo 3, Im attempting to install Diablo 1 and 2 on my computer, but thanks to the cases the disks were in they are scratched to hell.
if you go to battle.net and register your keys in a battle.net account you can download the clients, since you will need a b.net account for starcraft2 and diablo3 anyway you might aswell do it now :)

I am interested enough in torchlight, seems a nice "snack" until the main course; but I think SC2 and ME2 will hold me over fine.

the druid and assasin in Diablo 2 are still some of the most fun I've had in a dungeon crawler, they keep me occupied till Diablo 3 is released in 2012, and after we finish installing it, the world ends

Not surprising since the game is developed by Runic, a company lead by former Blizzard North VP Max Shaefer.

Sacred 2, i found it fun huge world and diablo esqe gameplay.
I was going to post this as well. Sacred 2 is AMAZING. I almost want to say "fuck diablo 3, I've got Sacred 2!" But then I realize that it's Diablo 3, and you know it's going to be worth playing as well. But seriously, if you've not played Sacred 2, do so now. They got really creative with the world environment and skill system.

Perfectly stated.

As for me, I'm pretty eager to see what Diablo 3 looks like, but I concerned about Battle.net, in all it's potential subscription nonsense I fear still lurks in the nearing shadows. Until Diablo 3 hits, though, I will continue to tread my gigantic backlog and the relentless Gamefly Q-list.

Whats a Gamefly Q-list? Like a netflix list?
