I didn't but only because I am waitig for a triliogy pakage to come out since I never bought the first two games. I know that will take a while but I can wait that long.
Hate to be a downer but i do not see that happening, especially on PS3 if that's you're intention. Mainly due to the fact microsoft published ME1

Oh and i dont know if that affects the pc versions as well due to Me3 only being on origin.
I mean the PC version. The only reason I didn't get the first two was back then my pc was old and unstable so I got a new pc last christmas.

A) I know that I'm going to be a little pissed with some of the stuff, so I'm waiting for the price to go down
Not going into the game with the forgone conclusion that I'll be pissed off, but definitely waiting for the price to go down.

*Checks the origin store* Seems i'm mistaken and its up there for a rather low price of 5£ for ME1. Who knows they might well do it after all the dlc has been pushed out.

I didn't, mostly cause I'm not invested in the series due to never playing the first two (which is apparently a gaming sin now) but above all else the demo didn't grab me in any way.
The combat felt clunky and I really couldn't get myself to care about the characters in any way.

Which for it to fail to achieve with such a large demo while I was trying my hardest to get into it is a pretty massive achievement..

But that's my opinion nobody else has to share it.

Haven't bought yet. Need to play through ME1 and 2 again. Due to a mistake on my behalf when upgrading my comp to Win7 I lost my Mass Effect 1 & 2 saves. I thought they were on Steamcloud. they were not. Neither is Skyrim. I smashed my mouse when I found out. Only 1 person has ever made me as mad as that. I spent so long with those characters, and it's all lost because I made a stupid assumption.

I really appreciate the saying 'Assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups' now.

I have over 200+ hours into the series so far via ME1 and 2 but I'll be damned if I'm buying ME3 as it stands.

I didn't 'cause I honestly couldn't give two stuffs about it. I'm not spending money on a game I couldn't care less about, I tried to play ME1 and didn't enjoy it at all. I didn't enjoy Dragon Age: Origins, either, so it must be a Bioware thing.

I didn't.

The Mass Effect series has never really been my cup-o-tea anyways. So not playing the latest one really is no big loss in my book.

I didn't buy it, since I feel they have been dumbing down the series and overloading it with DLC. When they said "ME 3 will provide a definitive end to the trilogy" I knew it was false because if they did that then they would have nothing to talk about in the DLC.

Origin-exclusive is the thing that pushed me over the edge into 'definitely will not buy under any circumstance.' Nor did I pirate the game. Pretty much all sense of caring I might have had from the first two games has evaporated, a mediocre series that turned into a cash grab, in retrospect.

I didn't buy the first one, couldn't care about the second one, and now there is a third one. I just don't have the time to sink anymore.

there are several reasons why i didnt get, first and foremost being all the hate that its gotten. second, i hate EA (despite owning the first two games). third, i've got a sizable stack of games i need to finish. fourth, college.

so with the ten dollars i discovered on my mass effect 3 pre-order i got a nice discount on I Am Alive, which now sits at the bottom of my stack of games to play.

i think i might grab ME3 used after the price has dropped... a lot. also i understand that used games dont have the multiplayer and you have to buy it? can anyone confirm that and how much it is?

I didn't, but that's mostly because a) I'm broke and b) I refuse to buy anything associated with EA.

I never got into the first game, I downloaded a pirated version from my friend but the textures were broken so it looked like an n64 game.

All I heard about the second game was Tali and all the f-ing romances. Thats all people blabbed on and on and on and on about for years was their f-ing kawaii desu alien romances. Could you get into a game if thats all YOU ever heard about it? It was nauseating. That and all the hype made me not really interested in it. Luckily my friend got 2 free copies of the game when he went to comicon, so I got one. I played 75% of it using mainly Mordin because he is the only funny one of the group. Its an alright third person shooter with dialogue options that dont really matter. I mean, they dont really matter. You can humor yourself that each action you make affects individual story elements that combine to create the most elaborate game ever created, but thats just being silly.

The third game I don't see a point in buying or playing. Why do I need to "finish my sherpards story" or some shit again? The second game had good enough backstory so I didnt need to play the first, and a good enough ending of YOU SAVE ALL THE HUMANS that I don't see a need in playing a sequal. Especially when the sequel is 60 dollars with content cut for dlc and a supposedly shitty ending. Maybe when its like, a complete edition for 20 bucks in the near future, but by then Bioware will have probably made some new Mass Effect shooter.

I'm 19 btw if you're curious about my age, and I have never gone onto bioware forums or really any forums to rant about how "bad" or "good" any of the games are because thats petty and childish. I am not trying to be a negative nancy, but the games to me just seem alright. Not too amazing, kinda bland in a lot of places, and some terrible facial animations.

After getting BF3 I've been boycotting Origin, so I didn't get ME3 yet. I play PC only so Origin is required right now. Extra annoying since I own ME1 and 2 on Steam. I'll still play BF3 becuase I have it, but I'm not getting anything else until they improve that service. Which they actually have been doing at a faster pace than expected I have to admit. Then the Day 1 Prothean DLC was announced and I had another reason to boycott it.

Good thing too since I know I'd have raged about the ending now that I know the details. So now I just hope that eventually these issues get resolved so I can finish my trilogy.
