See, I'm just not going to play it during the week, except maybe release week. But I am also having a tough ass semester, I might not play much until christmas break, but I will buy it in case I get the opportunity.

I'll get it for Christmas, so I don't have to pay for it and I'll have some time to play it before school starts again. I'm pretty hyped, but not that hyped.

I won't be buying Skyrim, purely because Dark Souls has delivered on everything that got me excited about it.

I mean, huge open world? Check.
Intricate fighting, weapon, upgrade and inventory systems? Check.
Massive level of detail? Check.
A good challenge to complete? Check about a thousand times.
Dragons? While not as dynamic as Skyrim's, check.
Story and world lore all woven beautifully into gameplay? Check, but Skyrim won't have that anyway, since I'm sure it'll be the hundred different books you can pick up and read... I'm playing a game, I don't want to read books! Plus I can't wait to talk to people by moving my head two inches away from there face and seeing them stare blankly at me while they talk. Then again, this might be rather dated thoughts on my part xD

Basically, Dark Souls has chewed Skyrim up and spat it out for me.

I highly doubt my Laptop can run Skyrim, so I may have to wait a long time to get to play it. But it's not a big deal, since I'm not that hyped up for it and I have more important (game related) things in mind.

I'm putting it on my Christmas list. It's not that exciting to me, but knowing myself, I'm still going to get it, try it, and probably ether keep it or trade it in for Twisted Metal or The Darkness II

Exams start on the twentieth, nine days after Skyrim comes out. If I want to be able to study at all, I'm going to have to wait until the 1st of December. It's hard to be positive about a three week wait, but at least the bugs will be fixed...

Well, I'd never pre-buy something on Steam or wheverer, because I don't like the idea of comitting to buy something that is unproven by any reviews. It' objectionable.

But whether I buy Skyrim depends in the end on how much time I'm prepared to lose from my life. Which will be "lots", I guess.

It's almost inevitable that people are going to rush out and buy Skyrim on the day of release, and over the following week there will be much bitching and complaining about bugs followed by a few weeks of consistent whining and while gamers impatiently wait for that first patch. There will also be people complaining about the vanilla how 'this part is too easy' or 'this thing is game breaking', which for us PC users the modding community will quickly jump on to correct.

So yeah I'm not going to rush out to buy it right away, gonna wait for some patches and some mods to come out first. Don't know if I want to wait for the standard Game of the Year edition though.
Yea Oblivion was bad and I have a feeling that with the scope of it Skyrim may have a few more. I'd rather wait for everything to get sorted out. And maybe save a little money. :)

Soooo I have been looking forward to the release of Skyrim since it was first announced but i am also currently In the middle of a very harsh semester at school. So to insure I don't fail half my classes in the last stretch I'm am making a personal decision to abstain from buying Skyrim for at least another month. I'm just curious if anyone else is being forced to make this tragically beneficial decision for whatever reason.
Well, I may decide to get it after launch. It depends. I have quite a few titles to catch up on.

I might get the GotY edition when that comes out though. That's always a thought.
Yeah, I'm getting that. Already picking out where I'm going to put the Alduin statue and the tabletop map.

I'm getting through the rough beginning (followed by the rougher exams, but at least then I'll know whether I get the stuff or not) so I'm getting it around the christmas holidays. Plus hopefully that'll be enough time for them to start patching the tidal wave of bugs people seem to suspect. Advantage, for sure, but I think that since it's on a completely new engine some optimism isn't too far fetched.

No way. Ordered my copy a few days ago and it's getting installed and played as soon as it arrives.

Arkham city is out on the 8th, giving me 3 days to beat it before Skyrim comes on the 11th. Uncharted should arrive on the 2nd, so I should be able to beat before the others. I'll have to mix in a little battlefield and dark souls beforehand obviously.

I really love that I have money.

I'm still getting it at release but I doubt I'll play it until a week or two later due to a combination of school work due in those last few weeks and the fact that I'm still be playing BF3 and Uncharted 3 along with the new AC 4 days later, since its purely a single player game its getting pushed back. I tend not to let games effect school too much.

I'll probably get it the week after it comes out, on my birthday. I'll be getting it on consoles to play the vanilla version, then I'll wait a few years until my rig's been updated, and then I'll get it on PC for mods.
Too many games, too little time.

I was more interested till I heard they're being inspired off Fallout 3's level scaling which was not fun for me, it was too easy no matter what I did. So not getting it, probably will play off my friends game.
