I might get the GotY edition when that comes out though. That's always a thought.
That's what I'm waiting for. I'm cheap/broke and I never buy games when they first come out. I always wait a while and get them when they are on sale. I'm getting Mass Effect 2 and Fallout 3 (though I've played it on my pal's 360 a while back, I'll be getting the PC version since I'm too broke for a console right now) this December to give you an idea on where my game schedule stands.

Soooo I have been looking forward to the release of Skyrim since it was first announced but i am also currently In the middle of a very harsh semester at school. So to insure I don't fail half my classes in the last stretch I'm am making a personal decision to abstain from buying Skyrim for at least another month. I'm just curious if anyone else is being forced to make this tragically beneficial decision for whatever reason.
Good luck, this is like not having sex with your girl because you're going to the military...

I have plenty of games in my backlog. Will buy when the queue clears up, most likely at a reduced price by then.

I myself am waiting only so I can enjoy it more on a computer that I won't own until about Black Friday. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

The moddong community needs time to turn it into a playable game, so i'll be waiting at least 3 months maybe more before I try the followup to bethesda's last trainwreck.

I'm going to wait until I get a new PC, then wait longer until a sale appears on Steam, then wait even longer (if need be) for the game to be patched and made playable.

Not too psyched about Skyrim, better PC is more important!

Well I was planning on buying it on launch but not anymore. I just found out the mgs collection comes out on like the 9th or something so I am gonna cancel my skyrim preorder and put the money on mgs instead. I will probably buy skyrim in a couple years or so if their is absolutely nothing else at all available anywhere.
I'm so torn.. I lovveeee MGS but I played em all.. butttt there in HD.... butttt its skyrim and it looks awesome from the 1st 20 minute demo I saw just released. I'll wait on MGS..

I don't know if I should buy Skyrim in november or in july when I come back from my 6 months in Australia.

Obviously I won't be able to play when I'll be away and I don't want to start a game in Skyrim, do a 6 months pause and then continue. It would never work and I'd have to start again.

Unless I really have time to spare (between getting drunk with friends, working, rampaging in Battlefield 3, assassinating in Assassin's Creed: Revelations or even hunting for 100% achievements in Batman: Arkham City), I think I'll postpone buying Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 until july.

Pity because I really wanted ME3 Collector's Edition... :/

I'm buying it. My dilemma is that if I play Skyrim then by the time I'm done with it ACR will probably have run out of a multiplayer community, based on what happened to the Brotherhood one.

But if I play ACR through the campaign, then do multiplayer by taking it in turns which game I play, by the time I reach Skyrim all of my friends will be way ahead and every conversation I enter will irritate me.

Oh and there's Battlefield 3, Arkham City and various others. Somehow I have to finish Skyrim to an acceptable degree before Mass Effect 3 is released, Oblivion took me about a year!

Also there's university and getting a degree but that's nothing, we pay that no attention...

Me, because I'll probably need to upgrade my graphics card and RAM to handle it.

I used to plan on getting it day one. Then I started on my financial statements...I can't take out another loan, I just can't.

So, yeah, it looks like I'll be waiting for a little while.

The only thing dissuading me is that I just got Dark Souls last week so it'd seem like I'd be wasting time/money by getting it.
Then again, it's fucking Skyrim.

It's nice to know that someone else isn't buying skyrim right out of the gates. Even if for a different reason.

I'm with ya, brother. I have a least three reasons why I'll be putting it off.

1) I never buy new games. I can buy it cheaper and patched in a few months. Less money, better game, is the way I see it. This policy is directly related to post 2

2) I have a back log of at least ten games that I have to finish/start playing. Which, funnly enough, is in part because of point 3

3) I'm currently half way though my pc upgrade. I'm now rocking the quad core and an Asus MoBo, but because they cost me ?250, I have to make do with the on-board ATI 300 that in on the MoBo and 2gigs of DDR3 ram. I'm almost set to upgrade, MSI GTX570 and 8gig of DDR3, but it will be at the lest, two weeks until that is done.

So, don't sweat it, bro, Skyrim will be there, patched and cheap.

I was never going to buy it anyway. Never played any ES game other than Oblivion which did not interest me much so I Skyrim isn't exactly on my top 5 list. However, with all the improvements to Oblivion I think I may just skip oblivion and just buy Skyrim GOTY.

I'm not.

Because A) I'm poor as balls and can't afford it.

And B) After Oblivion I've learned to never buy a Bethesda game new again. Oblivion was a poorly optimized, shallow mess of a game. Oblivion was built off of Morrowind's engine, Skyrim is being built off Oblivion's engine... yeah, I see a pattern forming. Perhaps it's a coincidence, perhaps not, but I'm not taking that chance again. Oblivion was a mess, and it's system requirements were a damn, dirty lie. I'll wait to see if Skyrim is actually optimized and stable before I buy it.

It worked with Fallout 3 and New Vegas(yes I know it's an Obsidian game, it's built on the same engine and just serves as more reason to wait a while before buying), and I expect the same with Skyrim. I'll wait to see if it's stable or not, and if not I'll wait for mods to make it stable.

I'm getting it on release, but I can't fault anyone for waiting. Bethesda games are among the buggiest major releases at launch (they and Obsidian are equals in this area).

I am for a simple reason...no decent pre-order incentives.

I will buy the game, but for now I'm putting my money towards games that reward me for pre-orders or new purchases. This means I can either wait for a price drop on the product or pick it up at full price when I'm bored of all the other new games hitting the market.
