I seriously think that Square overlooked this game when they made all the FF7 spinoffs. There would be a huge market for something like this, anyone agree?

No no no no & NO!! The Final Fantasy franchise, it doesn't matter which one you're talking about, doesn't need to be milked anymore then it already has been. Square needs to stop making spin offs to Final Fantasy games and generally milking their already successful franchises and start coming up with some new stuff already!
Only retards and sheep though that FF7 was even playable. FF8 was a brilliant game and deserves so much more attention unlike FF7 which has had every possible drop of money squeezed out, making a string of awful spin offs from an awful game.Depth Charge said:

Imo 8 was terrible, for all reasons ever posted previously on this forum. (Search ff8). The only people that i know that liked 8 were the people that were just a little to young to enjoy 6 or 7 and 8 was their first jump onto the square bandwagon. But really...it was a pretty bad game in comparison. I can't think of any sort of spinoff that could be interesting. sorry.
More final fantasy spinoffs....shit aren't there enough I thought after Chocobo tales people would be sick of them.
What they should do is update FF7,8 and 9. Just the graphics though, keeping the original music. Making these available to download on the Playstation Store or on disc for PS2. Like what they did for the first metal gear solid but not ruining the music and cutscenes by 'hollywooding' it up. Also, no new gameplay aspects.

I'm sorry sir I loved 8 and I had played final fantasy 4 and 6 before it and they were epic (7 was okay but not the godly masterpice people say its overrated in my opinion...) This is why I hate (yes, HATE) Final Fantasy. Everyone is gushing about it and there are made a new spin off every frikkin' morning.

Personally, I would avoid anything with FFVIII attached to it like the plague. All the people I know who don't like FFVII are people who don't like any JRPGs anyways. All the people I know who do like JRPGs can't stand FFVIII. I mean come on, Final Fantasy is all about being attached to the characters, and Squall was a semi-mute Emo robot. I don't think that VIII has the same extensive fan base that warrants spin offs. If you like it, great, but I think the people who like it are niche enough that a spin-off wouldn't be as profitable as they would want.
Only if they make it realistic and have Rinoa and Squall break up.

Why bother remaking any Final Fantasy? They were good for their time but we should focus on making something new and good not remaking what is already good and (most likely) turning it into a poor game. If any Final Fantasy is remade and it sucks, all of you people wanting a remake will come right back here, bitching and moaning about how they did this wrong and should never have remade it.
