The GameCube wasn't that bad - I own both a GC and a PS2, both are awesome in their own right - but it's selection of "great hits" was really only limited to Zelda, SSB, Mario (both Kart and Sunshine) and the rest was based off user opinion.
I personally own XG-3, Pokemon Colosseum, Crazy Taxi and LoZ-OoC Master Quest, and those 4 games just made the GC that awesome.

Gamecube was/is perhaps the best Nintendo console available. 64 had many great games, but Cube had great games too. It also had good graphics, which isn't everything, sure, but it is something.

I LOVED IT. So much so that I still have it hooked up another TV... even though I own a Wii.

It was niche, but they treated you well. So many great games, and even though there were few RPGs, they were all great (Skies of Arcadia, Baten Kaitos Origins, Tales of Symphonia are all big favourites of mine)

I like my Gamecube. It gets regular play. More than my other last generation consoles even.

I'm thinking its only fault was a lacking third party support. It doesn't have many worthwhile exclusives that aren't made by Nintendo themselves or a developer owned by them.

I did; Not counting my cousin's N64, it was my first real introduction to gaming. Man, how I loved SSX 3 and Super Smash Bros. Melee. (Or, as my friend pronounces it, 'mee-lee'.)

I liked a few games on it (Metroid Prime series, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil remake) but I hate the controller and how they handled the memory cards initially with those tiny ones then SOON AFTER bigger ones.

Though I still have mine and it hasn't caught fire and I love the GBA player on it so yes I guess I do like the gamecube.

Melee, every mario related game made for it, and, suprisingly, the Tak and the power of Juju trilogy. These along with several others were all very good games.

I love my GameCube. It's my most current system, although I don't play it much these days. I mostly game on my desktop these days.

Metroid Prime II was so good. Wind Waker was my favorite Zelda (and remains one of my top all-time games to this day).
Can't think of too much else I had for it. Those two were the highlights.

I love my Gamecube even though I think it was a mistake to purchase one before a ps2, which I got a year later, and its the only one of my last generation consoles thats still standing.

For some reason I remember liking this game called Lost Kingdoms where you played as a princess that summoned monsters from cards. It spawned a sequel as well.

REmake, RE0, Tales of Symphonia, the first one to have RE4, Smash Bros Melee, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, Metal Gear the Twin Snakes... It had many great games and it could produce better graphics better than the ps2.

I loved the Gamecube, it was Nintendo's last truly legit console. I'm not gonna bash the Wii but it just wasn't what I thought it should've been. Now, granted the Gamecube was no 64 or SNES...it boasted its own unique set of games, ones that I really enjoyed, like Mario Super Strikers, Luigi's Mansion, Metroid Prime and Echoes, Zelda: Wind Waker and Twilight Princess was much better on the Gamecube. It also boasted the exclusive Resident Evil deal with CAPCOM where it got: Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil 1:Remake, and Resident Evil 4, all of them great games and great additions to my favourite series. Then it also had the multiplatform games and it did them just as well as the PS2 or Xbox.

It had its flaws no doubt, but so did all the consoles, I'd have to rate this my #2 console of the last gen...making it below my PS2 but above my XBox.

I liked it. To me it's better than the Wii anyway.

Super smash bros melee, paper mario, mario kart, mario sunshine and sonic adventure 2 battle were awesome games.
