Malbourne used Snip. It's super effective!
Laser Priest used Thief. Laser Priest stole good taste in posts!

I luv bats. If I had a sixth spot - and I say this with full confidence despite not knowing any of the other new Pokemon - Noivern would definitely occupy it.

Zapdos and Typhlosion I can understand, 'cause they're awesome, but Weavile?

Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit, it's not every day you hear people liking that Pokemon. :p
Why, what's wrong with it? It's my favorite "Let's give this thing an evolution" Pokemon from the newer generations. Didn't care for much for Sneasel before it showed up and I do like Dark/Ice as a type in general. Just so happens to be my favorite. =P

All my favorites tend to be water-types for some reason...

Gen 1: Blastoise
Gen 2: Feraligatr
Gen 3: Swampert
Gen 4: Empoleon
Gen 5: Samurott
Gen 6: Greninja

Then again, Swampert will always be my all-time favorite... So, there's that...

Volcarona. It's like every butterfly-based pokemon ever, only 100x more useful than all of them combined. It's a big, unstoppable, fuzzy, force of doom and destruction. :D
(Galvatula gets honorable mention as well for being a awesome bug)

Vaporeon. I'm a pretty big fan of all the eeveelutions, but Vaporeon is probably my favorite. I love the look of it, and in-game it also holds the distinction of being the most useful eeveelution.
(Jolteon gets honorable mention. Oh man, G1 Jolteon was so OP back when speed was a factor for critical hits)

One of the lesser known Pokemon, I know it's only about the third most legit Pokemon, but it's definitely my overall favorite. It's very unique looking, it's very handy in a tough battle, and despite it's appearance it's actually quite playful at times... when it's not killing people.
You do have to carry it around in an extra large Basket since it eh... doesn't like Pokeballs too much, I wouldn't piss it off if I were you.

I have a few that come to mind, my favourite pokemon are:
Greninja - I picked Frokie as my starter as I just think it had the best design of the three. Greninja is probably one of the best pokemon I have ever used.
Gardevoir - My second favourite Psychic type. It was part of my team in Y and was just a joy to use, decimating dark types and dragon types alike.
Alakazam - My favourite Psychic type. Alakazam made my team back in Gold and Crystal and just looks cool.
Dragonair - Dragonite ruins the evolutionary look! But yeah Dragonair just looks great, I always like to have one in my game.
Gyarados - I had to put Gyarados in my (not so important) list. It was the pokemon that I personally found to look the most intimidating and it a pretty good pokemon anyway.
Groudon - Probably my favourite legendary, not because it's the best because Mewtwo probably is. but because Groudon was my gen 3 legendary and I spent many hours playing with him in my party. I also just think he looks really cool too.
Pidgeot - I have to include Pidgeot as it was the first pokemon that I got to lv 100 and was vital in beating the elite four back when playing yellow. It was also my main pokemon on my team, I thought it was great.
Metagross - His in game cry was what made it for me, possibly my favourite of the gen 3 pokemon. It's also a brilliant pokemon to use in battle so I always like to have one trained up.

So yeah those are my favourites as far as I remember.

Articuno is easily my favourite Pokemon. Articuno looks really cool and is very useful if you actually use them in your lineup.

Gen 1- Blastoise, my first water starter that has made me pick water first in all games since then, also it's mega evolution has a howitzer on it's back

Gen 2- Skarmory, There are two things I love in Pokemon, steel types and unique typing combinations, Skarmory has both by being the only steel flying type allowing it to soar safely above any jackass with earthquake that would normally ruin a steel type

Gen 3- Gardevoir, picking my favorite from gen 3 was incredibly difficult with pokemon like Metagross, Swampert, Blasakin, and Argon all among my favorites in this gen. But it was the addition of fairy typing to Gardevoir in gen 6 that put her ahead for me and made her my favorite from Hoen

Gen 4-Lucario, I find Lucario to be a very interesting steel type since it is based more on attack, special attack, and speed rather than defense so it can use any number of the powerful steel type attacks to their full potential, also having a fighting type with a decent special attack is very interesting

Gen 5- Krookadile, The first time I used a dark type and he passed the test with flying colors, being incredibly fast and powerful made him a beast of a sweeper along with the ability moxie that upped his attack every time he got a kill. Being part ground also came in handy quite often

Gen 6- Aegislash, My overall favorite pokemon was one I knew I was going to pick up upon first hearing about it, it's a god-damn sword that has the unique steel/ghost typing, sign me up. However it wasn't until after I had evolved my honedge all the way to Aegislash that I learned of its power of stance change which would cause Aegislash to change into shield mode or sword mode based on what move you used and would transfer 100 points to your defence or attack stats respectively.

Im only really familiar with Gen 1

My favourite was always butterfree. Not the strongest pokemon and had more holes in its defense than swiss cheese but early on in the game it was a powerhouse with good psychic moves and a couple of good status altering moves.

My tactic early on was *butterfree used sleep powder*, *[insert pokemon strong against opponent] used [insert powerful attack]* *it was super effective*

Later on butterfree is swapped with a haunter and kadabra for good sleeping/psychic moveset

REPRESENT THE NIDO-FUCKING-KING!

I always loved Nidoking but due to prevailant Mewtwo's, he was unfeasible when I was playing Gen 1 against friends. Now we're in Gen 6 and Fairy's think they're hot shit, taking down dragons, walking over teams.

Oh Xerneas. Shit's about to get REAL.

Gen 1) Gyarados. I. Fucking. Love. Gyarados.

Gen 2) Kingdra. Great all-round stats and very tanky.

Gen 3) Slaking. One day I'll figure out how to make this thing viable in battle. I just think he's hilarious.

Gen 4)Drapion. Incredibly versitile against other players and is very unpredictable.

Gen 5)Liligant. Played gen 5 as a blind nuzlocke and she carried my team till the end.

Gen 6)Dragalge. Love the design and incredibly useful against other trainers.

Pichu, without doubt - the adorableness is off the charts. On one of my copy's of pokemon, i actually have a level 100 one that i leveled using rare candies (my friend's copy of the game was glitched so he got an obscene amount of rare candies).

Oh god there are so many, but here are a couple of them:

1. Blastoise: A giant tortoise with water cannons on his back? You can't really argue with that, and was the first Pokemon I ever got to lvl 100.

2. Typhlosion: I thought he looked awesome, and he is a powerhouse to boot.

3. Gengar: He was the first Pokemon I ever saw, believe it or not, and I have always had a soft spot for him. My final teams usually have Gengar in there somewhere.

4. Espeon: I like the Eeveelutions in general, but Espeon ranks as my favourite, and makes an excellent team with Umbreon, who is my second favourite eeveelution.

5. Scyther: I would trawl through Safari zone repeatedly until I caught one, and when I did he would nearly always have a spot on my team.

6. Pigeot: My favourite flying type I always have a Pigeot as Pidgey is nearly always the first Pokemon I catch and I usually just keep it in my team just to have a flying type handy, but Pigeot is an effective fighter in his own right.

I know my favourites are from Gen 1 and 2, but Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver/Crystal along with their remakes rank among my favourite games of all time.

Reshiram! All day, everyday baby! I like it's design, and it's my two favorite types, Dragon/Fire combined.
I don't understand how Reshiram is the ONLY fire/dragon type pokemon to date excluding that one charizard mega. It's such an obvious combo.

OT: Here are my fav pokemon by generation.

Gen1: Charizard
Gen2: Tyranitar
Gen3: Blaziken (All time favorite out of all gens as well)
Gen4: Staraptor
Gen5: N/A, I didn't play 'em.
Gen6: Aegislash
