Oblivion was possibly my fav game of all time, just above mgs3 and FF7. Tried Morrowwind but turned it off within 10 mins because it was just too good for my PC. I hope they have more voice actors, combat could be improved, but not that fussed, and please, PLEASE..Can we fight a Dragon

Oh, and some horses that move less like horse shaped bricks

yupp definitly ready, morrowind was mehhh to me, i didn't quite get into it, i did like oblivion quite a bit, at least the guild stuff was pretty awesome

i think its definitly the right time for it to come out, people are getting anxious for a new medieval like rpg to sink their teeth into, so if its even fairly decent then im sure it'll do amazingly, especially in the modding department

I'm confused. If you people didn't like Oblivion, what game were you playing that replaced it? It's the only game that even attempts to do what it does, and I for one think that it does a damn good job.

Say what? Oblivion was one of three "open-world RPGs" released in the 2005-2006 window: Oblivion, Gothic 3, and Two Worlds. Disregarding respective quality, they are pretty darn similar. True, they each went about making an open-world fantasy RPG in a different way - but they had the same core principles behind them.

I agree with this, Oblivion seems to be hated a lot, and I have no idea why.

I am disappointed with it taking place in Skyrim, not that I think it will turn out badly, but I think somewhere else could have been a better choice. Also, now that they're going to move to a new engine, and hopefully have gotten a gauge as to what needs improvement/changes, things will turn out better for all of us.

I, for one, am looking forward to it.

Meh, I'm not too sure either way yet. I enjoyed Morrowind and Oblivion enough to spend some time messing around in them after the main quests (especially with a bunch of mods on for Oblivion) but I've never rated them as some of my absolute favourite games. However, the trailer seems promising (y'know, what with the dragons and all) so as more information's released I'll probably start to look forward to it.

In morrowind my friend nearly commited a mass genocide against the entire population. The only reason you have to be the hero is because you chose to go and do the hero route. You can do whatever you want in an Elder Scrolls game, and killing everyone, becoming an exceptional theif/assassin, or simply being a total prick to unicorns and people you don't like, are all on the table.

Know to be fair, Oblivion felt a bit more forced on the epic journey then Morrowind, but still. They pretty much tell you in the hand books that you can do whatever you want. Thats what makes the series so fun.

I've sunk over 50 hours into morrowind and never got past half the primary 'hero' campaign. I was one of the best assassins, built a town in an ice island, a great thief, had to constantly try to keep a low profile due to a high bounty, and was at one point a vampire. No other game has let me do that, and still offer 200 billion other things to do if that wasn't my thing.

Know if freedom isn't your thing, and your more of a theme park kinda guy, then I can understand that, but don't say Elderscroll games are hero games.

I really hope it doesn't turn into the North region from Gothic 3... that place was a maze of little islands, deep canyons, and orc infestations.

On the other hand, I could do with some properly-done Nordic-themed role-playing. Pour me a hornful of ale and man the longboats, boys!

i am NOT excited for a sequel to a game that i couldnt even play for 5 minutes without being bored
i TRIED to replace the hole Fable left in my heart after my mom took it away all those years ago with Elder Scrolls 3, but that game SUCKED! it was WAAAAAAAAY too big and the combat was slow and clunky. i never felt like i was actually HITTING anything when i swung my sword

i honestly thought oblivion would be better, but it turned out that it was just as bad, just with better graphics.

If you didn't play the game for longer than five minutes it's pretty clear you didn't give it a chance, and Oblivion was not "Morrowind with better graphics", far from it in-fact.

Elder Scrolls games are just too slow. i like to be drawn into a game from the moment i start it, which is why i like games like Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect 2 and cant stand bloated games that go up their own ass with cinematics and overly drawn-out stories (not saying Morrowind was this. in fact, it had a severe LACK of cinematics that made it impossible for me to wonder if i was doing the game "right")

I am not excited for it, but that is because I played Morrowind and thought it was one of the worst things ever. Though I did love Fallout 3 so maybe I should see if I like oblivion.

If they manage to combine the varied/interesting world/story design-type of Morrowind with the stronger gameplay elements of Oblivion then I'll be totally on board. I spent tons of time with both games; each had its strengths and weaknesses. Fix the problems, maybe add some new elements to spice things up, and you're golden.

Also, bring back the class personality quiz from the beginning of Morrowind - I always thought that was a nice touch (didn't make much sense in the context, but still).

I played Elder Scrolls IV, despite not having played any of the previous ones. I bought it because I love RPGs and after hearing so much about it, I figured I would love it. What a piece of shit that game turned out to be. I have never been so bored with a game in my life.
