Calling all Doctor Who fans, I was just curious as to which incarnation of the Doctor you all were introduced to. I was lucky and my first was Genesis of the Daleks with Tom Baker. (The Fourth Doctor)

Same here with Tom Baker, but I saw the Shada series first. It was fun, if a bit corny, but I guess it would seem that way considering I'm speaking *ahem* FROM THE FUTURE!!!!!

Eccleston as the 9th Doctor in Rose.

Although I believe I saw the old 'Dalek Invasion Earth 2150AD' first but didn't know at the time what it was and just thought it was a cool old movie with murderous pepper pots on wheels.
Bwa ha ha! Murderous....Murderous pepper pots.... Thank you very much. That made my tomorrow (not enough of today left, it will definitely carry over). A dozen Internets for you, sir.

I used to watch the old Tom Baker episodes on BBC America when I was a kid. Couldn't tell you which one I saw first, it was about twenty-five years ago now.

My friend first showed me David Tennant. I don't remember the name of the episode, but it was The Master's first episode in the new series. After that I went home and thought I'd watch an episode or two, starting from episode 1 of the new series. I've been addicted ever since.

I've only watched the new series because I can watch all of it on Netflix, but I'd like to watch some old stuff if I ever get a chance.

<IMG SRC="http://s91291220.onlinehome.us/formica/paradroid883.gif" ALIGN=RIGHT>Let's see.... Genesis of the Daleks with Tom Baker. Didn't even realize it until later, though. I channel-surfed through it, and the Daleks caught my attention because I was a diehard Paradroid [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradroid] player and they looked like one of the enemies from the game. (Of course it was the other way around, but I didn't realize that until I got into the show more. But I suppose I do have Paradroid to thank for introducing me to Doctor Who!)

First time I watched it as in sat down to watch a TV show and see what it was about? Several Doctors, actually: I think it was The Five Doctors.

It was with Tennant, but i can't remember the episode for the life of me. I saw that episode back when I didn't care for the show, so my first true viewing of Doctor Who was "Blink." What a way to introduce a show.

It was William Hartnell during reruns that aired on Space when I was a kid. I watch the vintage series from the firs guy to the third guy with a couple of the fourth (remember they taped over parts of the original series?) every weekday morning at around 6:30ish (not all at once of course).

Though my intro to the new series was during David Tennant's run, the one with Queen Victoria and the werewolf. I wasn't hooked until much later though, when I saw a rerun a year ago where the Doctor meets Martha for the first time and is in a hospital on the moon being combed by Rhino police looking for a shapeshifter that literally drinks your inners out with a straw.

David Tennant haunts my fantasies. Could never figure that one out considering he's skinny, bug-eyed with sideburns (eek) and looks like a complete dork.

Mine was Tom Baker in "State of Deacy". I was young and home sick from school. Then my old man brought home The E-space trilogy from the library to entertainment.

David Tennant, it was The Impossible Planet. I decided to stop watching when the vaginaly faced aliens were introduced... I mean Ude...

However I decided I'd start watching from the start of the series and went from 'Tooth and Claw' I believe, really enjoyed it so far, Impossible Planet was much better than I thought =D

10th doctor, "Rise of the Cybermen". Thought it was a bit cheesy at first, but ended up loving it after a few more episodes. :)

Love and Monsters. I walked in while my Mom was watching it. I couldn't figure out who the Doctor was, or why the show was named after him. Then I saw all the other episodes ever, and it was good. I have so very much love for the Doctor.

My first was David Tennant and I'm not entirely sure which episode it was, but I think it might have been "Fear Her" from series 2.

I feel very left out on this whole topic, seeing how damn popular doctor who is it must be a good show. I talk to plenty of fans on the internet who just tell me it is good, no rhyme or reason to watch it though, if someone could give me incentive please do. My favourite shows are Breaking Bad, Sopranos, My Little Pony, My Name is Earl, Trailer Park Boys and The Big Bang Theory, I love shows that throw surprises at you (not too many) and that have fleshed out characters, if I seem like someone who would like the show please message me your reasoning.

I saw odd episodes of the early doctors in black and white. I saw one where the doctor was nearly feed to some crazy guys plants. Don't know which doctor it was. That was the first time I saw doctor who.

I did watch Eccleston as the ninth doctor and onwards.

William Hartnell's doctor on Skaros, the first encounter with the Daleks, in black and white.

I was 4, the TV was showing reruns on a Sunday afternoon - that was when I converted to the Church of Sci-Fi and Geekery.

The Canned Nazis still give me the heebies.

Well, it definitely isn't for everyone. It isn't as action-oriented as other sci-fi standards, but it has its moments. It is a bit cerebral at times but it isn't afraid to be campy. It has a very large universe and some very creative and bizarre aliens. If you like good adventure-type sci-fi with a sense of humor, you'll probably like it.
