not gonna sling BS I haven't played ME2 but from an outsider looking ins perspective(who has some knowledge of the story and most of the character) I would say Jack, Samara, and Grunt are the ones I'd let die at this point...though I am sure this will change once I actually play the game

I wanted everybody to survive on principal, but Tali died on my first playthrough and I didn't particularly mind. We didn't see eye-to-eye on several matters; particularly her loyalty mission. Since I always like to do my first playthrough without outside info, I didn't even know how characters died until she did (did know it was possible from press releases). Later did a second playthrough with a guide to make sure everybody survived for my ME3 import file.

I was sure to make sure everyone came out alive, but if I had to sacrifice anyone, it would be Jack and Miranda.

I killed Tali, Garrus, Mordin, Legion & Samara though careful planning.

Samara, her code made her a bad as the people she killed.

Legion, I didn't trust him.

Mordin, he talks to much and gets on my nerves

Garrus, "Hey, Commander, we got Garrus back! You know, he was always my favorite... with that pole up his ass... " - Joker. That exactly what I thought when I got him back.

Tali, I don't care for her personality or whats under that helmet.

Everyone else lived.

No one died in any of my campaigns, but I'd kill off Miranda in a heartbeat.

She's a complete waste of a character space, that could have probably gone to a really cool alien - with better voice acting.

I sorta started to like everyone after exhausting all of their dialogue trees and doing their loyalty missions.

Jack is still my least favorite.

Anyway, my Lone Survivor/Ruthless Shep has a reputation for killing his whole team. So I'm trying to kill off as many people as I can and live to tell the tale. In most play-throughs though I try to save everyone.

None of them. Regardless of my personal feelings towards them, people deserve to live.
oh yeah?
see if you still feel the same after you try to talk to Miranda
couldn't kill that **** fast enough

right after I got the "get everyone out alive achievement I reloaded my save and made damn sure Miranda died
Talked to everyone, did their loyalty quests, made the right choices on personnel for the final mission, went in as soon as possible. I don't give a fuck what your attitude is like. You're on my ship, you're part of my crew, your ass will stay alive as long as possible. That's just how I roll.
I guess it makes sense to protect your assets
she was pretty useful because she's the only one who could use Warp and Overload
but every word she said just made me want to claw her eyes out

Miranda. I side with Jack on one goddamn fight and she snubs me for the rest of the goddamn game. Seriously, there was no way to win in that argument scenario. I JUST saved Miranda's sister, so I thought her loyalty would remain the same, but NO. She gets all bitchy, and now, checking the Mass Effect wiki, romance with her is out the question now. Christ. This game makes me feel so goddamn stupid.

Well, not that I did it on purpose, but Miranda died in my game, and I'm glad to be rid of her.

I think the thing that killed her was when I chose Jack's side in the ***** fight. I mean, sure, Jack's, well, Jack, but she had the right to be pissed. All she wanted was an apology from Cerberus for letting that cell destroy her life, and Miranda was a complete **** about it. Afterwards, she refused to speak to me for the rest of the game. Very professional. I'm glad she's dead, and I'm glad Jack survived. I'm using this savegame for ME3 because all is as it should be.

If push came to shove, either Zaeed or Jack. Zaeed because, if you read his messages, he thinks the best retirement plan he's come up with is taking a ship and blowing himself up, so he'd probably volunteer. If he didn't, it would be Jack. She bothers me. I try to be nice to her, and she either snaps at me, or thinks I'm trying to get in her pants. No. I like Tali, and nothing you can say will change that.

This is one thing that irks me. Everyone says Grunt is dumb, and that Wrex is better. What's better about Wrex? All he does is talk about how his race is doomed. He's an emo, made a promise to his father who he killed for breaking tradition, left his race to rot (initially), and his side quest was so meaningless it was ridiculous. And when he chose to point a gun at you on Virmire, I almost asked myself what the point was of letting this P.O.S. live. I did so because I could convince him, and thankfully he became more upbeat and awesome in the 2nd game.
Well that's the thing about Wrex, you have to look a little deeper than the cover. An emo is a stereotypical term that describes anyone who has a doom gloom teenage hormone driven attitude. Wrex's was more like a "screw it, I tried to help, but they F'd things up even more." kinda outlook. His reaction on Virmire was unrealistic, especially if playing as renegade shepard, but aside from that I saw him as more of the "old guy who still has some spark in him" rather than the "teenage hormone-driven menace to society" His side-quest had to do with honor, and tradition, while his personality felt that the Krogan needed to move past such notions. Its very much related to our modern-day societies in which we are in a constant struggle between tradition and change (having lost the value of honor a while back in most cases)

But the great thing about Grunt is that he's the best comic relief in the game, bar none. More times than not, he had his own unique input on every situation miles above the rest, and he was the only person to make me laugh every time. He's child like, impulsive, violent, and that's what makes him so unique from the rest of the cast.
And that would fit perfectly into the first game, but in a dark story, I'd prefer to leave out the comic relief personally. Or keep it more subtle.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 had their disadvantages, and advantages. I personally preferred ME 1 because they focused less on the "dark and story-driven" aspect and more on an "actiony yet story-driven" aspect.

When I saw the opening cutscenes for Mass Effect, I felt it was taking the classical sci-fi approach, while still being awsome in its own right.

But I digress from the topic. Point being, everyone has a right to their opinion, I simply dissagree with your outlook on Wrex.

Jack or Jacob. Jack was just annoying (she cannot fight Miranda, she's Yvonne Strahovski!) and Jacob was a pretty bland character. Jack died on my first playthrough (as did Thane, I was well pissed) and all I could think about was the achievement I didn't get. When Thane died I was like 'OMG NO!'
