Why all the hate for activision?

It is said that Mr Robert A Kotick loves money so much that he sold a bunch of people he kept as slaves to a shapeless horror from beyond the stars that feeds exclusively on human tears. Like many of his type he is extremely personable but once he is out of sight he sheds his human skin and rampages like a beast in his own private slaughter pit. No cameras have recorded the scenes therein but the screams can still be heard through the foot thick concrete walls. He has 10d8+56 hit points.
At least the Infinity Ward employees that have not been fired or quit will get the money. I am just glad it isn't going to Bobby Kotick. I imagine that some people are happy this happened to Infinity Ward because of the whole dedicated servers thing that happened. They might see it as poetic justice.Hubilub said:

And people hate Activision because their CEO Bobby Kotick said "im going to take the fun out of making games" and "im only in this for the money" at the last GDC.

In my heart they already are! BioWare would be a close second for me. I saw a GameFaqs poll weeks ago about which video game developer they liked least and Blizzard won.

they sued ea ijn order tp pevent the release of brütal legend. tim schäfer used to develope it under activisio but av dicontinued it, so after he switched to ea. Then Activision sued ea that they shouldn't be allowed to release it either, noone nows why, but they giot their ass handed by ea.
At this juncture, every point that people have made in this thread, and that they allowed MW2 to be spawned.

EDIT: I suppose I should add something to the topic. Bobby Kotick is a money grabbing douchebag who doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as the rest of us. That is, of course, assuming he needs to breathe, because I don't know if you need to breathe if you don't have a soul.
All these guys on here are just posers! I've been hating Activision before it was trendy. I hate them because they slowly chewed up the Tony Hawk's series until it was the unrecognizable lump of cud it is today with games like RIDE. Same with the Spidey series. The spidey games went to shit after Ultimate Spider-Man. How badly do they have to screw up Spider-Man before they realise what they're doing?
Oh and also Infinity Ward I guess. I've never been into CoD in general, but I can agree that they are good games and that the talent over at IW has been stomped and shat on by Activision.
I'm just glad that they've gone to EA and started their new dev studio and they're not held down by the CoD series any more, which means thay can start with a new concept with new hardware and a new engine.

Personally I'm more pissed over them shutting down fan projects than anything else. I can honestly not think of a single rational reason for Activision to have demanded The Silver Lining shut down aside from an irrational hatred towards all mankind and the urge to make the universe a duller and more cruel place. Then as a final insult they also require that all material made public is removed and the forum deleted... WHY?
I suspect Kotick and by extension Activison as a whole simply hate gamers and fun in general. They might be either aliens, intent on invasion through demoralization, or daemon of some sort! Could be both; Space Demons!

I remember awhile back when i saw anything with the EA logo as garbage and now i see it as the only combatant that can stand against what Activision has become, goes to show what a little humbling can do.
