There's hate on Hearthfire? Really? I thought it was great. Nowhere near as good as I hoped it'd be, but it's still a nice thing to have. And it's about as pricey as a broken twig.
Yeah, you can get it with mods, but console players don't have mods, and Bethesda can a better, more stable job. Deal. With it. People. If you don't want it, don't buy it. There's DLC out there far more worthy of your hate. And they couldn't give it out for free, Microsoft doesn't allow it. Just because we play on consoles doesn't mean we don't deserve some nice extras, even if we have to pay for them with the money we could make selling the dust off our furniture.

I don't hate it. But I certainly don't need it. It's developed for consoles because they don't have mods like the PC. A house that I built using the Creation Kit is far better than anything Heartfire can produce. And if you can't make your own, there's plenty to choose from Steam Workshop or Skyrim Nexus.
To be honest modding has a small possibility of helping sales, but not by much. For example i used to have oblivion for 360, then after 2 disks i got a steam sale for the pc and modded oblivion. Now if for some mods i need a content dlc, such as maps, areas, or even shivering isles to get other mods i want to try. Then i would have incentive to buy the dlc.O maestre said:

I bought Hearthfire because I like Skyrim, I like Bethesda, and I want to do my part to keep them in business. And if I get some nifty gameplay bonuses in the process of supporting one of my favorite giant evil faceless corporations, so much the better.

Really? People are attacking hearthfire? I think it?s pretty pointless tbh, especially for a pc gamer but I don?t see why it would anger anyone. It wasn?t advertised as a big epic expansion and you don't have to buy it. If they lied about what is was then it would be an issue but I don't think they did.
I don't understand why most of you people are so aggressive about this. OP just wanted opinions, he didn't want to be screamed at because "ur so stoopid, 4 boughting teh DLC that i dont like!!1!" Is it really that hard to state your opinions in a less confrontational manner?

I swear it's like Kodomo no Jikan crossed over with The Elder Scrolls.
Oh, there are also some patches needed. Display cases in homesteads don't seem to work properly, and i can't get my wife Mjoll the Lioness to dress up in leather and bend over. What? Kids walking around in their underwear is fine and there's a constant implication that powerful vampire females were raped by Molag Bol but we can't have a consenting relationship between two adult mortals? And why can't i marry any Khajiit? I can't roleplay myself in Skyrim if i can't get the character hot over women with animal ears!

Probably because most people say it's actually worse than most of the Home mods people have made, and mods are free.

Hearthfire is alright, but it seems a lot like the "Build your own house" mod on the Nexus. I don't think it's worth attacking the dlc though, cause it does add a couple new elements to the game.
What I am more upset about is the instability of my game it's causing, and adoption limted to game houses. But it's only a matter of time till it is fixed by more mods.

Because people are entitled as usual. When they're not crying that RE6 isn't scary anymore or that ME3 had a bad ending they are whining about this.
I LOVE Skyrim so I got this right away, but since I already had a house I made a little museum for my character, to showcase all the unique weapons and armors and even a trophy room and garden. Sure the DLC would be better had it been there during the journey and not after but I still like having a little place to show off my stuff, even if I'm the only one to see it.
I also made a house in the forest for my pure evil character, so she didn't get ambushed by guards every time she visited her house in Whiterun.
