You thought that PETA was in existence for the betterment and protection of animals??? Lay off the Kool-aid some and come up for air.

It may have been started with that purpose, though I doubt it, and now it is little more than a political tool for the extreme left.

Because everything starts out as a good idea but someone gets behind the wheel and uses it for their agenda. It's how every organization goes.

I enjoy trolling PETA videos on youtube by leaving comments along the lines of, "I love animals. They're delicious". Their rage is so fun to watch.

The South Park episode centred on PETA was spot on, just a bunch of poser freaks.

Why is the sky blue?
And I used to actually believe that PETA stood for People for the Eating of Tasty Animals. Well, I didn't actually believe that, but I couldn't figure out what the acronym actually stood for for a long period of time.

I do like how the PETA claim to want to help animals and yet basically murders any animal they get their hands on, despite most of them being suitable for adoption.

They aren't so much concerned with whether animals live or die, it's all about the prevention of abuse and suffering. You might disagree with PETA's policies but it's far from straight-up hypocrisy. And, as wacky as PETA is, Western countries treat living feeling farm animals as if they were machines. Look up chicken batteries - what we do to egg laying chickens is actually pretty sick.

And, for the record, I'm not against eating meat.

You'll find that PETA is the victim of the VAS, or 'Very Attractive Strawman', half of the insults weighed against them are based on facts made up to paro-

I agree in theroy, but can we have eggs without such abuse? Take beef for example, given how much of it is consumed is it really something we can have without the current system?

To be clear I'm asking questions here, not saying it is or isn't needed.

Eh, there are free range chicken eggs, but their eggs are, naturally, pricey - and I don't think there is any actual criteria for labeling eggs "free range" in the US so it doesn't neccessarially ensure that the chickens are treated ethically.

In Australia "Free Range" is 14( or there about) chickens per square meter, well thats what it is in NSW (A state). I remember a commsumer's right's group getting in a huff because "Free Range" implyed the chickens were not kept battery-style, which they were.
