I'm sure we've all heard it. I hear it from my brother constantly. cause he's just a pain, but my mum seems to have accepted it about a year ago. Anyway, my typical answer is, because I don't like you. When I'm not feeling flippant, a rare occasion indeed, I'll tell people that gaming with my friends seems as legitimate a way to spend time as going out and riding bikes or something. And I avoid parties, because I hate the music, but go to massive Heavy Metal concerts, where I may converse with a complete stranger. So, I'm not anti-social, but take part in different social activities. What's your response/excuse to this question?
I agree verbatim, except with:

It's not completely true... >_>

I don't get on with "normal" teens, and they don't get on with ME >:/

so... cultural differences? :D
mixed in there.
Yay for being gamers.

If I'm not feeling particularly up to it, I'll just quip back with "Because shut up."

Else, I'll correct them on their insistent terminology. Antisocial personality disorder is the "disregard for and violation of the rights of others", and that what they're thinking of is Avoidant personality disorder, which I don't have either, I just prefer comfortable silence over forced conversation.

Then I spike the nearest object to the ground and do an endzone dance, because they just got pwnd.

5 years of university in mathematics and computer science has lead me to be comfortable with a very specific set of people (aka weird nerds). When I see my friends from high school on the holidays and stuff we have nothing to talk about because they have no idea what the hell any of my work involves even in the slightest.

Thus I'm anti-social when I'm forced to be around people I have absolutely nothing to talk about with. If I'm around a fellow mathy or CSer then I can talk all damn night.

Never have really gotten that from anyone.

But I can see how it would be on context more than anything. I have a friend who spends most of his time with his girlfriend solely. I consider that antisocial if anything. Sure it'snice but it's only with one person

I've always been more of a lone kitten... Because of bullying i realised if i stayed alone, my "friends" couldnt stab be in the back when they wanted. I keep a few friends close, and plenty of aquaintances.

I have never been aggresivley Anti-social. I dont do vandalism, violence, drinking on street corners and things like that. More i just prefer to tell my mates that i dont really fancy going out, only for me to sit moping in my room.

I'm anti-social because I'm filled with fear and hatred (shyness and irritability, too). Oh yeah, and I'm just lazy.

I've gotten it once or twice before. I just explain that I require a good deal of 'me' time and that they should schedule sometime ahead of that time.

I'm not anti-social. I go to my friends parties and hang out with them and go for drinks with them but it'll be days in between.

"Because people suck, you included." I kinda wish people gave me the opportunity to use this more often.

I think really I just didn't know the tight people, I don't try to be "anti social" but well.............. if the folks aren't playing every sport under the sun around these parts they probably do ecstacy

Pretty much the same as you dude, though I phrase it differently:

"I love people. I just hate society."

2 reasons for me. The 1st is because I don't drink which makes going out in the eve to a pub/club/bar unbelievebly boring. The second is because the thought of talking to people scares the crap out me.

I thought Anti-Social meant not following the rules of society by being destructive and harming other people.

Because I'm a quiet guy and I don't like to talk to people I don't know very well. Also I refuse to lower my IQ in order to talk to testerone filled idiots :p.
