There is (well, WAS) a boss in World of Warcraft called Edwin Van Cleef. It sounded cool at the time, so it became one of my online-names that I rarely use anymore. Except for this site and xbox-live.

Despite living in the largest city in my country, our internet was horrible because of the router. It would never work any longer than 30 minutes before deciding that it didn't like any of us and then just cut us out. At first we thought someone was hacking in and being a dick, but there was no excess usage we could find. The company, which is effectively a monopoly, was about as helpful as monopolies are. My father got so fed up that he named our service PIECEOFSHIT with the password "painintheass"

It took 3 routers to finally find one we liked, but I already left home so it didn't make a difference for me.

No problems where I currently live.

In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, when you are playing the level where you are assaulting the launch facility, there's a part where you round some shipping containers. An enemy jumps out and gets ready to shoot you, but he gets shot in the head by someone. Then, over the radio, you hear, "This is sniper team two (or one). We've got you covered." I always liked that line, and I prefer to play as a sniper and carry sniper rifles in games.
The four is because I like the number four. And I'm the Fourth person in my family to carry my name.

Wow, you really have lots of stories to tell. Anyways, my username is simple. Lauri is my given name and J is the first letter of my surname.

And so, in a fit of annoyed self-deprication, I named myself after a line in an Archie comic that summed up how bad I was at this "username" thing.

It worked.

And thus was born a legend.
So the route of legendary hero "Ohforf'sake" [http://thenoobcomic.com/index.php?pos=3] then?
Correct. This is more or less exactly how it turned out.

To paraphrase what I said in my thread about names a while ago:

Eämar (pronounced AY-a-mar)is a Quenya name I made up for myself many years ago, and I've grown very fond of it. The name was an attempt to create a sort of Elvish equivalent to my real name - it looks and sounds a little like Emma, and is a combination of the words eär (sea) and amar (earth). Because Emma means 'whole' or 'universal,' I thought combining those two words would be a decent way of getting the same sort of idea across.

In my head, I actually kind of think of Eämar as my 'real' name nowadays, though I never use it IRL. I certainly feel more connected to it than to Emma.
Basically, I put way too much thought into five letters no one will ever pay much attention to :p

Also it bugs me that I can't include the diaeresis in most games or on sites like this. Well done me >.<

Oh, and for a gaming connection, it's also the name of my main WoW character.

I've had this name since back in grade 10, so I've had it about 7 years (holy crap that makes me feel old, didn't realize it was that long ago) I was supposed to write a story for my English class, but, since I suck at writing anything original I just did what I do best. Copy a game story I knew (in this case it was .Hack but I've done it with RE 4 too :p), but I can't copy everything so I went to a name generator like I normally do when writing (since names are the hardest thing for me) and I just mashed two of the names together and voila that's how my username came to be.

My given forename, which I no longer use, is actually Geoff(rey) in the traditional British spelling. I spent my very early years in Canada, where that spelling is not uncommon, and grew up in England where it's standard and a common name. My mum is American, though, and when we were stateside many, many Americans literally could not understand that it's the same pronunciations as "Jeff", so we were constantly telling people "It's just Jeff!" I stopped using the name when I came to the US permanently. So my name is something of an inside joke. The 88 is just my lucky number, such as it is.

Gundam Sentinel is one of my favorite pieces of Gundam media. It's a photo novel about the conflict of the New Desides and the intervention of Task Force Alpha and the mighty S-Gundam. All there is to it.

It's my user name basically everywhere.

Because I am some kind of obsessed freak unable to accept any MLP ship except RariShy. (At least no other ships containing one of the two.)
I'm also known to my friends to use battle-cries from this little role-playing setting project I'm working on, based on the show. Which is a large part of where the "Zealot" Part comes from.
Huh? That's an interesting explanation but it doesn't really explain why you're called Azurelord707... correct me if I'm wrong but I can't see anything related to Rarity, Fluttershy or Zealot in your username :-/
Aw shit. I keep forgetting that the Escapist is using my OLD name... Nowadays I go by the name RariShyZealot, or just RSZealot.

Azurelord707 was just something I came up with when I was younger, and it stayed with me out of laziness.

Ah, fair enough. If you ever feel like changing your Escapist username to your newer name, you're allowed one username change through the "Update Account Information" section in your profile, only if you want to that is :p

I used to be a Brony and I used the name of one of Pinkie's imaginary friends (namely the bag of flour with a french accent) for a PSN account a ways back, I just sort of rolled with it since then.

Well, mine started waaay back, a long time ago, where an idea popped into my head, The Grim Reaper harvests souls, the Eye Reaper harvests sight. I used to imagine it as like, one of those old, medieval times justification for why people went blind. I've recently taken up writing a mythos about the character in my spare time, and how since he controls sight, he can basically take the form of whatever he wishes. You'll never see him coming, and once he leaves, you'll never see again.

Not to be confused with Eye repair, the Lasik Surgery, or Eye Raper, aka Willy Pete.

I wanted to use a common English name, and it also had to sound cool whilst saying something about myself, hence John the Gamer. And it wasn't even taken yet. Lucky me.

Oh, I didn't know that. Then disregard my old name, Zealot's here to stay!

Despite my many nicknames (on backlog), I only switch between two of them... This is the second one, which is also the "hardest" to pronounce unless I tell you how to pronounce it... (It's fuh-ploon, by the way...)

What does it mean? It means "The Revolution", according to my middle school self who came up with this title while working on his own radio musical play... (In other words, it means "nothing" unless you live in Nigeria and used FPLOON as an acronym on Twitter that one time...)

My love of the Zelda series wanted me to take an uninspired pun of one of the most important titles in the Zelda universe. That would also explain the avatar. >.>
