I registered, as so many others here have, as a direct result of my enjoyment of Zero Punctuation.

I stayed because the level of discourse on these boards is such a step up from GameFAQs (which, after all, is the Dumpster out behind 4chan). User Reviews in particular has provided a proving ground for my writing and has let me find a voice and an audience (two things that came in handy when pitching Guest Reviews to the Escapist's main content area.)
