Step 1: Start learning some kind of martial art...
Step 3: Confront the bullies and heroically kick their asses.
There we go, sorted.
Well, it worked for Rocky...

But Jackie Chan does a mix of a Kung Fu, Judo and something else. Silly people.emeraldrafael said:Now if they told him not to do Archery (or suggested it) why would they be cool with him learning Karate, since the common misconception is once you learn it, you turn into Jackie Chan?endnuen said:Second of all, take up some sort of martial art, it helps relieve stress, anger and it allows you to snap a wrist next time someone starts a fight.
The amount of ignorance in this post amazes me. One occurrence does not represent all of Texas, pal. This shit would never have gone down in my school, and I happen to live in Texas.Canid117 said:Do you live in Texas or something? Because that kind of thing never happened at any of my schools.
as for why I said Texas... [http://www.dvorak.org/blog/2010/10/25/cheerleader-wont-cheer-for-her-rapis/]
For the most part, I agree with this dude. You shouldn't have done something so huge in front of so many people.GrizzlerBorno said:Well There's your problem. although to get this clear, what you did was "badass" and I as a porky awkward kid gut bullied to some extent so I've daydreamed of doing similar things. but the problem is that you accidentally let yourself become worse than the bullies, and I know I suck for saying that, but its true. Yes, they beat you and bruised over a long period. But no-one saw that, it wasn't harmless, but it was less "impressionable".
The best way is to show them who's boss without overstepping any boundaries. I once dropped a bully to the floor and punched him like a moron in front of the class BUT, not only did he not have a scratch on him to prove it, no one vouched for him, and the teachers never believed him. I got away scot-free.
Don't get me wrong, your school system is biased and broken. but i'm just saying that.... Strangling a guy with a rope? really?
We live in a society where people are judged not on their quality as humans but on their abilities on many times utterly inane skills. We live in a society that promotes competition, hatred, subjugation, celebrity.WOPR said:EDIT: Crap I forgot the question; why is it that the jocks can get away with ANYTHING but the second I defend myself after being badly injured (with 33 witnesses mind you) I get in major trouble?
Calm down it was a semi-joke. You can go ahead and make fun of my state for all the horrible stuff it has done. If you want to get serious though the fact that the Texas court system supported the schools decision means that in a legal sense this incident does in fact represent all of Texas. Yay legal precedent! Also I agree the garroting is something that goes over the line. Just punch the dude in the face or the gut next time.Cheery Lunatic said:The amount of ignorance in this post amazes me. One occurrence does not represent all of Texas, pal. OT: I feel for you, but you went overboard with your attacking the dude with a rope.
WOPR said:Okay yeah this is a life story but it has a point
I've been beaten up my whole life (weather it be because I'm weird, because I'm poor, or because I'm 18 and have never had a girlfriend)
but in 7th grade (weird/poor) things went too far
the Football team would always hold me down and take turns hitting me
or pelting me with tennis and baseballs
scares bruises and black eyes everywhere
the teachers said "they're just boys being boys"
then one day at the gym, we were doing the rope climb
you climb this really tall rope, ring the bell, then fall onto this really soft cooshy pad so you don't have to climb all the way back down (the pad itself was like 4-5 feet tall, and felt like a tempurpedic bed)
well I rang the bell and slid down the rope a little (because I didn't trust them for a reason) then about half way down the rope I let go and fell for the pad
the quarterback then proceeded to pull the pad out from under me and I hit the hard-wood floor with a loud thud
everyone laughed
I then lost my temper and garroted the quarterback with the rope (wrapped it around his neck and pulled tight) yelling that he would never do that again
then things became very serious; the teacher yelled at the class to "get him off of him" and well yeah you can see where things went
in the end, I got expelled for hurting the quarterback
and when I showed the bruises, crutches, and scars and told them how I got them they said "it's one thing to harm the student body, it's another thing to make up stories to justify it"
...the principal then tried to convince me to take up something to relieve my anger such as football, or baseball, or soccer...
goes to show what a jock he was as well
off note: I ended up taking archery in boyscouts and was the only one that could bullseye every time on the 20 yard target... I was told that I shouldn't take an anger outlet that would let me kill people from 60 feet away with a sharp stick
EDIT: Crap I forgot the question; why is it that the jocks can get away with ANYTHING but the second I defend myself after being badly injured (with 33 witnesses mind you) I get in major trouble?
EDIT 2: sorry actually I wasn't "expelled" I was just "suspended" for a quarter of the year
when I got back the jocks started beating me with bricks (apparently a drunk driver hit the wall next to the church or something)
and I just ran into the office as fast as I could and the second the principal heard my voice and the phrase "law suit"
well...
we had a talk
then I was suspended for my own safety
because he didn't want me to be in an environment where I could get hurt
(you know, because punishing the victim is TOTALLY what you're supposed to do... not punish the [4] offenders!)
EDIT 3: I'm not like this anymore and this has been taken care of (got half the kids there to stop attending and shut down one of the two schools they had... which were right across the street from each other haha)
Just throwing that out there
I'm not really a violent person(yes I am I just keep it in- and blame society)
so no one think I'm a freak or anything lol
just was wondering if anyone else has things like this happen and if this is running rampent
Well the fact that you choked the guy with a rope might have been a problem. Just beating him senseless, there you should have been fine. Though honestly, all that other stuff is messed up..... Don't worry, your not as crazy as you think. Just try soccer out (WE NEED MORE PEOPLE!!)WOPR said:snip
