Why DO people hate Nickelback?

I personally like Nickelback, but that has nothing to do with why I don't get all the hate. My question is, why do people hate Nickelback so much when the Black Eyed Peas still insist on existing?

You're still allowed to hate Black Eyed Peas if you already hate someone else. There ain't a limit on a hater's hate.

I actually hate them so much I don't have room in my heart to hate anything else. They've used up all of it. (Well. Them and Nicki Minaj.)

Meh... I don't have much of an opinion on Nickelback. I don't listen to enough of their music to call myself a "fan" or to have found them completely repetitive. I like a handful of their songs and I don't mind the sound of the lead singer's voice.

Also, to everybody calling them the worst musicians ever...

I also hate Nicki Minaj, or Icky Minj as I prefer to call her.

Probably becuase they're a rock band with no distinguishable sound, whose songs all sound the same and appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Worse than freakin' Linkin Park, and that's something.

They're an easy target because of their generic music and the fact that their singer is a phenomenal douchebag. If people stopped hating them, they wouldn't get a third of the attention they currently do.
