Why do people Tweet?

Okay I'm assuming you've all heard of Twitter. I'm afraid I don't really see the point in it, am I missing something?

That's actually just about right. 99% of Tweets are just stuff like "I'M EATING SUSHI! LOLOL!!!!"

Just a quick decentralized way to get information to all your friends as fast as possible. I suppose texting would work too, but Twitter seems to have more of an appeal for some reason. Besides, many politicians and celebrities that people wish to keep up with can personally update information and you can get it that much quicker. It's just a quick way to inform people of things no matter what your physical location.

OTOH, it did help those Iranian protesters get out information to the outside world, so it's not all bad.

I use it to talk to people from the Escapist. I really use it to announce every little detail of my day, that is just stupid. I'm sure most members of the Escapist and the mods would prefer us chatting there than derailing and spamming threads.

He thought that was interesting. I then followed with: "That said, if I ever tweeted one thing I'd say that I don't care."

I personally use it to keep my fans (all 3 of them) updated on progress of different episodes and what's going on. Some people are stupid about it and update it constantly. I try to do one a day but usually don't even get that done.

But hey, to each his own I say. I'm sure some people think that socializing on a forum is pointless. Which it kinda is, but entertaining none the less.
