Ugh those things look so UGLY. WHY WOULD YOU WEAR THAT? I'm pretty open as far as fashion (or lack thereof) goes, but those are just... ugh. Ugly. So ugly. Bleah.

(captcha: typically slitsi. lol what.)

Speaking as a Floridian, 76 degrees is one degree removed from being downright cold; it's not hot until it's 90 degrees and humid. I'd be covering up more if I were someplace that was in the mid 70s like that, not less.
Speaking as a Swede, land of mythical cold, 76F (which translates into 24 Celcius) is comfortably warm, but hardly hot. My flat was 35C (95F) last summer, THAT was unbearable.

OT: Those clothes didn't seem that bad to me. I thought this was going to be like a Walmartian thread or the like. I wouldn't be caught dead in that top as a female though, cool or not.

Maybe you should pass a law that doesn't allow people to wear anything you don't like.

Because your opinion on clothes is of-course thee definitive one.
and sir wins the thread.

Seriously clothes are an expression of individual identity, or even just something comfortable to wear. If someone felt good walking round with a bucket on their head I don't see what business it is of yours or anyone else's.

I will however, congratulate you on your good taste in choice of images. Effy is mind-blowingly hot.

Fashion is just another form of art, I have no problem with people wearing what they like so long as it isn't offensive in some way. If you think it looks silly, then that's fine, but don't act like your opinion is a fact.

At least it is a good way of judging intelligence levels. People dressing like that are likely not going to be curing any form of cancer.
This kind of judgemental behaviour is bad. I, like Abandon 4093 and William MacKay, am disappoint.

95 indoors? Ouch. In the hottest part of the Summer, 95 and humid (which brings the heat index up over 100) is par for the course around here, but everyone has air conditioning, so it's rare to find a house that's hotter than 80 inside. Apartments are usually kept in the 60s or 70s, since the electric bill isn't directly paid by the tenants.

Clothes don't need to be about practicality, they're more about making yourself look good. When you hang out with friends who also dress like or aren't as petty as to judge you merely on the clothes you wear then you can wear what you like. I'm fairly certain that fashion is about subjectivity, so you have a very baseless argument that merely seems like an attack.

so i was at kennywood yesterday (an amusement park in the pittsburgh area) and saw a lot of people, mostly guys wearing shirts that had no only the sleeves cut off, but pretty much the entire side cut off. basically the only places the shirt is connected on the sides is a couple inches from the bottom, and around the collar. basically like this
http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl2/33/330044/08_2009/31349f3a838a8065_Effy.jpg
on guys it just looks incredibly douchey and on girls it looks trashy as hell. i guess they wear it to keep themselves cooler but is 76 degrees really that unbearably hot? i cant imagine they put that on and then looked in the mirror thinking, "i look so awesome like this!"

another thing i hate, and maybe im in the minority here, is when girls wear shorts that are shorter than their pockets. like this
http://www.piperlime.com/products/res/mainimg/logan-cut-off-shorts-epic.jpg
dont get me wrong, i like a girl in short shorts as much as the next guy, but i think shorts in which the pockets hang down past the bottom of the shorts or hemline or whatever its called, it just looks really stupid

anyway, so what fashion trends do you regularly see that just makes you think, why in gods name would someone walk out the door like this?
Dude, Kennywood!

*High five*

Still, I dunno man. People have really weird tastes sometimes. Some people just wear weird things because they wanna say "I wear weird things".

Eeeeeh, I can't really complain, I usually look quite shabby myself, but that's because I like baggy clothes, and combined with my overall excess of hair...

One of the joys of the forum is people's seemingly random dip into raging conservatism.

OT: I don't see the problem. Short-shorts and a vest are hardly insane crimes during late-Spring/Summer time. And I will personally slap anyone who says they have an issue with girls wearing short-shorts.
Conservatism on the Escapist?
[sub]It's more likely than you think. Especially in instances referring to sexuality and gender norms.[/sub]

The only thing I hate about summer fashions is that there isn't anything that's both airy and flattering to my hairy chicken legs.

Cause they like looking like tards.
At least in that one thing that looks like something a caveman would wear. Short shorts are nothing new and nothing bothersome.
Edit: *notices pockets sticking out*
Well that TOTALLY doesn't look retarded. TOTALLY.
It would be fine, however, if they didn't have the pockets sticking out like that.

You didn't just so happen to be there on a school trip, did you?

OT: I guess it keeps people cool. Not really much else, it looks dumb as hell. And with the whole pocket thing, that doesnt bother me, not one bit.

With me, it`s the hats tilted sideways that drives me up the wall. Either wear your baseball hat like a real man (with the bill forward), or at least look like a proper asshole (bill backwards). When you wear it to the side, it just looks like you slept with the damn thing on.

Where is that first pic from? I feel like I've seen that before...

Edit: Oh, and I don't really judge people on what they wear unless they do to some fancy pants event wearing jeans.

Because they can. Really any individual's fashion sense is completely subjective anyway so there is really little point getting worked up about such things unless they border on indecent exposure. But yeah those shirts do look a bit silly but look but at any point in recent history and you will see fashion really doesn't make wise decision most of the time.

My personal irk is when people wear a baseball cap like a fucking idiot. Straight forward=perfect. Straight back=acceptable. Everything else=douchbag moron territory.

So was my mom and sister. School picnic, or just for the hell of it (not that you raelly need a reason to go to Kennywood)?

OT: I dont know. I dont see whats wrong with the pants, cause thats the new style. though that shirt, guys where those kinda shirts all the time and no one says anything. Would be kinda sexist to say girls cant.
