Wow, you're complaining over this? I thought this thread would be a legitimate complaint of people wearing stupid stuff. I'm dissappointed.
One of the joys of the forum is people's seemingly random dip into raging conservatism.

OT: I don't see the problem. Short-shorts and a vest are hardly insane crimes during late-Spring/Summer time. And I will personally slap anyone who says they have an issue with girls wearing short-shorts.
conservative? that a new one haha. as i said, i have no problem with short shorts, i just think the style of shorts that have pockets sticking out below the hemline look dumb. im not sure what i said came off as conservative, maybe the sideless shirt thing but that was in reference more to guys than girls, mostly because i rarely see a girl wearing them. but this thread was never intended to be me bitching about clothes, it was intended for people to talk about weird fashion trends that they didnt understand

Dressing like a douche/whore is in. That's all teenagers care about, sex, so they dress the part.

so i was at kennywood yesterday (an amusement park in the pittsburgh area
So was my mom and sister. School picnic, or just for the hell of it (not that you raelly need a reason to go to Kennywood)?

OT: I dont know. I dont see whats wrong with the pants, cause thats the new style. though that shirt, guys where those kinda shirts all the time and no one says anything. Would be kinda sexist to say girls cant.
i couldnt find i picture of a guy wearing it but my point was that it looks stupid when guys wear it. i dont think ive ever actually seen a girl wearing that. im saying those sideless shirts, i think, look really bad when anyone wears them

Oh well, iw ouldnt know. ig uess cause its "cool" now.

i dont know, I always wore solid dark colour t shirts, jeans/shorts, shoes, and maybe a button up left open for the layered look, but I was never one to go with fashion. I prefer function. I dont get why people wear stuff like that either to be perfectly honest. it boggles my mind that you want to pay that much for essentially damaged goods when you can just by a cheap pair and do the same thing (unless thats what they did).

That pocket thing is actually kinda funny..
Don't mind people experimenting with stuff, and as for people following stupid trends? Let them.

Of course, there are limits...

I really can't stand nor understand the purpose of those miniature jackets with long sleeves that I constantly see women wearing around my area. I really don't get the point of them, were they meant to keep your arms and your boobs warm? What are they about?

Another popular thing that I really can't understand:

What is their purpose? Are they a boot? They sure don't do well in the snow/rain/hail/precipitation at all, and that's why boots were made. Are they a slipper? What are they? Yes I know they're Uggs, but I guess the more prominent question is "Why?".

A few more fopas that really need to die:

OP, I totally agree with you on the ripped shirt thing as well. Now if they were wearing it to the beach as a cover-up, I wouldn't have a problem with it, but yeah you hit the nail on the head when it comes to wearing it on a regular basis. Good call.

I think those are just some really big pockets...

And I don't really mind the first one, but that's mainly because I love the Scott Pilgrim clothes from the comics.

While I find the visible pockets on short shorts funny.

My problem with people at the mo' is the current haircut. Buzzcut sides and back with a mop on top.

Also jackets that look like they could be bin-liners are hilarious.

I dunno...my "uniform" is pretty much the same every single day. Black t-shirt, jeans, cowboy boots, black flat cap. I've always been kind of a function-before-fashion kind of person. Anyone who isn't seems like a tool to me.

The women's boots look dumb, but I wouldn't mind a pair of some of their men's styles; people usually don't believe me when I say it, but they make some respectable boots. For example:

Edit: out of these, the last one is the only one that I would want, but the point is they make more than just the slipper/boot hybrids they're famous for.

Edit Edit: Looking more closely at the post I quoted, those hats aren't real fedoras. They're some other style that people mistake for a fedora.

note the significantly wider brim than is present on those fake "fedoras."

Hmm, I like the shorts, but not the top that does look weird.

If that's the trend then I guess you'll have to get used to it being around a lot for a while.

So should we all wear jeans and a t-shirt with Nikes?

And in that style's defense, it's cool. Cool as in chilly. You know guys can better regulate their limb's temperature rather than their core temperature as opposed to girls where their core temperature is higher? I think I might be wrong here, entirely, but there's a bit of function for that form. And also, it's sexier and more hipster to have a cool arty shirt, huh?

Maybe you should pass a law that doesn't allow people to wear anything you don't like.

Because your opinion on clothes is of-course thee definitive one.
and sir wins the thread.

Seriously clothes are an expression of individual identity, or even just something comfortable to wear. If someone felt good walking round with a bucket on their head I don't see what business it is of yours or anyone else's.

I will however, congratulate you on your good taste in choice of images. Effy is mind-blowingly hot.
If clothes were a magnificent way to express identity then it would also be a magnificent way to judge someone off the bat and I don't think I could tell you if the guy who has his clothes nice and pressed all the time is kind or a massive dick hole.

I think that clothes allow you to express an identity closest to your personality but not you as an individual.

Speaking as a Floridian, 76 degrees is one degree removed from being downright cold; it's not hot until it's 90 degrees and humid. I'd be covering up more if I were someplace that was in the mid 70s like that, not less.
Speaking as a Swede, land of mythical cold, 76F (which translates into 24 Celcius) is comfortably warm, but hardly hot. My flat was 35C (95F) last summer, THAT was unbearable.

OT: Those clothes didn't seem that bad to me. I thought this was going to be like a Walmartian thread or the like. I wouldn't be caught dead in that top as a female though, cool or not.
95 indoors? Ouch. In the hottest part of the Summer, 95 and humid (which brings the heat index up over 100) is par for the course around here, but everyone has air conditioning, so it's rare to find a house that's hotter than 80 inside. Apartments are usually kept in the 60s or 70s, since the electric bill isn't directly paid by the tenants.
Yeah, we have to pay our own electricity. And AC is practically unheard of seeing as 6 months out of the year we don't need it. Hopefully I'll be able to get my balcony netted in this summer so I can open the balcony door without worrying that my cats will try to do a Superman from the third storey[footnote]Yes, I know they'd most likely survive. But they're indoor cats and this is a rough neighbourhood.[/footnote]; that should bring the temperature down a bit. I hope... o.o

Then all I'll need to worry about is the mosquitoes! Oh lord the mosquitoes... *gibbers*

OT: Sorry for the hijacking. Carry on!
