Yeah, how dare they want you to better yourself!

The nerve!
I don't think it's that they want you to better yourself; they simply want to feel better about themselves. So, like any bully they take their inner frustrations and direct them out words at people they find nonthreatening (people on the internet). A playground bully will pick on a random child for any reason no matter how nonsensical, but if confronted about their bullying will swear that that random reason justified their actions. It's again the same in this case. The so called "grammar Nazi" clearly overreacts, but when confronted tries desperately to justify their actions and anger with claims like "it's for the sake of clarity" and so forth. All the while dismissing the fact that nothing written on this forum really matters that much(it's just for fun guys), most small mistakes are meaningless in regards to clarity, and people in a non-formal setting like to write the way that they speak without the whoms, thuses, and other ostentatious embellishments used by the intellectually insecure.

It's a sexual deviation - they like commas, that's all. Sheesh, why are you going and discriminating against them? Do you have something against homosexuals or people who like animals, too?
Yeah, I have something against people who want to have sex with my dog.
Your dog isn't my type, their taste in books is completely different!

Honestly though, never heard of it before.. Unless you mean grammar nazi's in which case, I'm (sort of) one? I guess.. I just can't stand text talk, it's just lazy and makes the poster look like an idiot, especially when they claim it's faster.

Imagine someone spitting on you every time they speak, that's how I feel when reading something that is typed "lyk dis u gt me ye"

This term etymologically comes from the fact, that the Finnish language has a god damn amount of obscure comma related rules and, more often then not, does NOT rely on making a short pause at the comma. Hence teachers usually get this affectionate title.

on a somewhat unrelated topic: when i hear this term, i usually point to the nearest dog

After looking up what pilkunnussija means, I concede I may be one.

There are rules, people. Rules are not there to be broken, regardless of what some people may say.

Edit: Okay, I can't ignore it any further. That apostrophe in the thread's title must be gone immediately.

Hey! I WAS part of the Grammar Nazis before we started enforcing capitalization in terms of angry screaming...
Ugh...a proto-Grammar Nazi. Look, I appreciate what you guys did in the beginning. But you all went way off track later on. Your type give Nazis a bad name.
Gawrshdrattit, man, give me some credit! I personally removed a fake who attempted to "tkae over" the Grammar Nazi party! At great personal risk, I may add!

Just give me a chance... please?

Ohmigod, adorable baby!

Fine. You know the process. You are to proofread for a year the papers of one Edward "G-Money" Denning, a seventh grade student attending a nearby school. Note that the use of the color red is still restricted during this probationary period. This is for me. We will review your re-admittance upon completion with your time with Edw- ahem, G-Money.
...He's still in grade seven?

...

He's hopeless. He was in grade seven when I was in grade seven.

G-Money has found a niche in his life where he's very comfortable. I find his determination in the face of remarkable failure inspiring. Note that none of my views are influenced by the fact that his father is one of the GNazi's largest backers.

I have now read several posts around this thread, and looked up that massive word from the title that I'm too lazy to spell. I've decided that this topic is about one of three things:

A. Grammar Nazis
B. Finnish people who have a sexual attraction to punctuation marks.
C. Finnish people who have a sexual attraction to animals. (So basically just Finnish people.)[footnote]JOKE! That was a joke. I know it didn't really make any sense. I'm sorry. Please don't quote me.[/footnote]

CONCLUSION: Finland is weird.
I acually loled in read life.
