Why do Trolls exist?

A troll is any person who posts or comments solely to get a rise out of people. They aim to agitate members and derail threads. It's done because it is hilarious to watch people rage over the simplest things and see an entire thread go off course because of it, if you're the troll that is. A troll is not someone with a different or controversial view on something, please refrain from shouting troll at everyone that says something controversial.
Contempt.
I once went onto Stormfront ("White Nationalist News and Discussion for Racial Realists") and posted a picture of a bunch of African politicians that seemingly were annoyed about something (at a UN meeting I think), and the caption read 'The Negro Community Frowns Upon Your Shenanigans'.
There were pages of responses like "like we care about what you ***** think, go back to Africa" blah blah blah. Until finally one of them was bright enough to say something along the lines of "This is probably someone trying to get a reaction out of us with a silly picture". But yeah, they were dumb enough to think I was some kind of representative of black people or whatever. I was trolling them and they didn't know it. I was contemptuous of them before but even I was surprised that so many were quite that thick.
But some people hold that same contempt for EVERYBODY. Or for Justin Bieber fans, or teenagers, or conservatives, or authority figures, or whoever. So they try and get a laugh out of annoying them.
Sometimes trolls can have moments of absolute genius but more often they are just people wasting the time of idiots (as I was), or idiots wasting the time of people, or (most often) idiots wasting the time of idiots.
Anyway, trolling is a art.

What's wrong with trolling? I don't do it here (much), but there is literally nothing quite so satisfying as being a successful troll.
Also, a lot of people deserve to be annoyed, especially when you're being very obvious and they fall for it.

See? Trolling can be legitimately funny sometimes. It's just that, most of the time, when they subvert a subject of discussion, they won't admit that they did it, just to piss people off. For a matter of perspective, if the concept of "trolling" didn't exist, the world wouldn't have comedians, or shows like South Park or Family Guy. Be thankful. Just don't feed the ones on here.
Contrary to what loads of YouTube morons seem to think, trolling isn't when you just post an angry comment. That's flaming. Often people who call people out as trolls while misunderstanding the meaning are being counterproductive.

Because it's often funny. Some people take it too far though not far enough.
Saw a New York Times interview with a guy from #bantown (Weev) once it was interesting. Couldn't work out if he was genuinely a sociopath or if he was fucking with the interviewer.
Sounded like a genuine sociopath (i.e lacking a lot of empathy) and said he had past troubles but as he is a troll it could be either way. Part of hisgenius Madness.

I think trolls gives up on trying to be inteligent and instead, trys to be a nusance....i guess they ARE smart in one respect, usually when they troll on boards that has rules; they usually only troll to the near maximum threshold that doesnt get them banned or anything, but obviously annoying to everyone else.

That and some people are just assholes who like taking advantage of their anonymity on the internet to be assholes to an extra degree. Asshole 2.0 basically.
