I can laugh my ass off when I watch his reviews even though he is constantly insulting the games I love and he even insults me sometimes.
I think I love the fact that he is such an asshole and he doesn't give a fucking crap.
Why do you love (or hate) Yahtzee?

From all his reviews the only one I saw when he did not shit all over a game was Arkham Asylum. I like his reviews because he talks about the game as you would with your friends except alot faster and in a brittish accent. He gives no game a free pass like alot of others are suspected to, hes a hater pure and simple and what does the internet love more than haters. Also IMPS.
Are we talking about the same Yahtzee here? I've never seen him do a review before.

I used to really like him, but lately, it's just been routine that I watch his video on Wednesday. Personally, I think he's getting tired of it or something because his reviews lately have been so lackluster and same-y, I don't think I've actually laughed at a ZP video in months.

He presents his arguments in a very amusing manner through the use of his animations. He animates his metaphors leading to hilarious imagery. He also speaks as one who truly appreciates gaming for the art form it has become and opens discourse about the many nuances of gaming.

His job is to bash video games, and he STILL couldn't bring himself to bash Portal. That right there shows a pretty deep understanding of what makes a good game. Portal had the best level design I've ever seen in a first person game, and 90% of those that didn't like it forget it was only $20 and/or didn't finish it.

Yeah the guy is a critique, not really a reviewer which seems to be a general misconception. I like him because he can do what the industry of "review sites" seemed to be afraid of; to explain why a game is so bad and perhaps just to add that air of sarcasm, wit and hyperbole that makes it so it's not meant to be taken to heart and too seriously.

I own a few titles he's "mulled" over such as Valkyria Chronicles, Red Faction and Castlevania...titles that I all enjoy but never really get offended by his critiques of the game. I remember in the VC related one, he was annoyed how the enemy shot at you whilst you moved where in fact YOU troops actually shot at the enemy while THEY moved so it wasn't as unfair as he made it out to be.

But on the whole, it's a break from the mould y'know, a fork in the road of life. He provides a lighthearted view (albeit sometimes swear filled rant on some titles such as Turok, which apparently deserved it) on the mainstream title. Makes for light relief and comic effect to which I believe he does very well.

Because he's damn funny.

Never mind that his criticisms are often inaccurate, the guy is a real comedic genius. Does it matter that I often disagree with his opinions? No, it doesn't, because he makes me laugh.

Except for the Valve fanboy parts. It was funnier when he hated everyone.

I love his videos, I think they're really funny. He picks apart games and hates for no apparent reason, much like me in some ways, except I'm not funny. Even with games I love, he makes me realise their faults, and he makes me laugh at them. Basically, he's a completely subjective reviewer and that really tickles me. That said, I think he's been going downhill a while. He's still funny, just not as funny as during his golden age.

Definitely agree. I think his last review that genuinely made me laugh was Sonic Unleashed, primarily by how over-the-top it was. Lately it's been kind of a bore. I don't think I've watched the last several reviews and, the several before that, I didn't get to the end.

It's a shame really. I would love to still enjoy it.

I enjoy them for what they are a criticism. I don't see them as review's because he's openly admitted he's a critic and not a reviewer. Some just don't seem to get that.

I don't have any feelings regarding him at all. There was a time when he was funny now I only watch out of routine.
This.

Also, my gen-y brain cannot take in information unless served to me at breakneck speeds. Yahtzee is as such my only input from the outside world. I die a bit inside as I type this.
