I don't hate them. Hating a corporation for doing what every other video game corporation has done is ridiculous. Everything EA has done to piss people off has been done by Take-Two, THQ, Nintendo, Sony, MS, and Activision in almost equal or more measures with the exception of Origin(which is optional anyways).
Wait, isn't Origin now bundled with all new EA products like Steam/Steamworks?
Yes, and has to be connected if you want to play any of your save games.

I find them disappointing with how they rip off their customers with shit like day 1 dlc, and for some reason most EA published games I own did come with a lot of bugs, and others are really unbalanced like Zero Hour.

There we go, Origin.

All the negative of Steam without any of the positives, all poorly wrapped in spyware.

Easy.

Broader Appeal.

They do it to Dead Space right now.
And i am 100 percent sure that broader appeal is the reason why Dragon Age 2 had this horrible, just horrible combat engine. Urgh.

You still don't have to sign up for it. For example, there was a thread here on the Escapist by someone who was mad at EA because he was told (not by EA or Bioware, but by a random person on the TOR threads) that he had to sign up for Origin in order to play The Old Republic. After his lengthy ragepost, myself and some others who were playing TOR at the time told him that what he was told was either a lie or misinformation.

What kills me is that he tried to debate us simply on the fact that EA was involved so it had to be their fault...

The issue I have with EA is that they consume small creative companies and yet all they seem to churn out most of the time is generic crap. Another thing is that they were one of the first to place online passes on their games / they are trying to kill buying used games.

I guess the fact that all they care about is money. Sure they're a company but that doesn't excuse their stupidity, creating sequels of games that didn't need them or sequels where the game is completely changed from the original game. And the fact they drive companies in to the ground, love you pandemic :(
Ditto on that. It's like they took your high school sweetheart and turned her into a crack-whore. You can kinda see the girl you once knew and loved but she'll never be the same again.

I think TOR was the last large EA game that was an optional Origin install, ME3 required Origin even if you bought a physical copy like a Steamworks game.

I still hold hope she can turn her life around and get away from that scruff EA, he's bad news.

So yeah, thanks for correcting my frankly embarrassing mistake, much appreciated. And if you'll allow a brief reformulating of the point, I wouldn't mind seeing EA's and Activision's near-monopoly in the games industry challenged, and their marketing and content trends changing for the better.

Apparently, I'm supposed to hate EA because they are practicing sound business logic in an area of the world where that is uncalled for. Every company on the list of of casualities did not deliver high enough content. Each one was only destroyed from the inside after three failed projects.

They are not evil for practicing good business logic.

I don't hate EA.
They make some of my favorite games and if I hated them then I wouldn't be able to play them.

They're a business so of course you're expected to pay money.

They scan your computer? Go ahead. There's nothing illegal on mine - some indecent pictures maybe and some laughable word documents but nothing illegal.

Day 1 DLC? Well - if you buy the premium version you tend to get that DLC included. If you just buy the normal game then buy it or wait a few months? And to be fair - if you pre-order a game for day 1 chances are you might order the premium.

I play The Sims for crying out loud and we get ripped off big time but end of the day I don't hate EA.

If they know you'll pay extra for something then they will charge you for something extra.
