I heart Japan no more then I heart any other countries outside of Europe and Canada.

I don't care for anything other than Super Mario and a couple of Zelda games that have come from there. May be because I know little about Japan overall. Edit: OH YEAH, Godzilla! How the hell did I forget about Godzilla?

But they're as human as anyone else (except for us Arians), so I wish them the best of luck with this crisis.

-The Pokemon anime, the first season of the English dub of which entertained me quite a lot when I was a kid. Hell, Pokemon in general, or I might as well go out on a limb and just say Nintendo. All their first-party games are awesome and the consoles rock too.
-Touhou Project. That's a no-brainer (to anyone who knows the series, anyway.)
-The language itself is pretty awesome, and even though some internet-dwellers and Mary Sue writers use it gratuitously, it's fun to trip those people up when you know more actual Japanese than they do. I've never actually done that, but I think it would be fun.
-Godzilla. Everyone knows him, even if they've never seen the original films by Toho (not to be confused with the game series.)
-Japanese food. And I don't mean rice, sushi and ramen. Once you actually try proper Japanese cuisine, I promise you'll fall in love.

Let's just say: Nihon wa sugoi desu ne? (I would actually type that in Japanese, but this website can't read it... ._.)

I don't, I have absolutely no love for it. I don't have any family or friends there or from there. It's a land mass with people in it that I do not know. I give some of my money to some of the people there for some of the products they sell, but that's about as far as our relationship goes.

I am also forever grateful for this. I have never before found a song in this genre that I liked until now. Thank you!
You are most certainly welcome. :3

That would be MtH's newest single that I heard for the first time this morning. It is amazing.
If you're interested in their other stuff, get their albums Rokkinpo Goroshi and Buiikiseau.

Every song on those albums is pure metal/pop fusion perfection ^_^

I <3 Japan because they have gone through a disaster, and need lots of less than three.

I heart Japan as much as I heart the USA.

That is to say, not a lot.

I appreciate a lot of the stuff they produce but I am severely irritated by their culture, xenophobia, government, ethics, anything basically. And that goes for both really.

Yeah, no, I liked Japan when I was 15, back when it was cool. Gradually, as my friends bought more and more anime and manga, I became disenchanted with their artistic culture. Now that I'm approaching middle-age life, I'm more into folksy European stuff.

Food. First and foremost the food and the booze.

Next comes Akira Kurosawa, then the history, then the people( have never had a problem with the people) and finally the manga and anime.

So need to see Japan in person I know I'll love it.

I should also mention the cars (especially the GT Skyline)

I don't particularly like nor dislike Japan. What I do dislike is them still omitting or denying things they did in China and other places in WW2.

So...Gamers <3 Japan, we have established that, but why do you heart Japan?
I like how you assume gamers universally love Japan /sarcasm

The fact that so many people are Japanophiles annoys me greatly - they're just another culture ffs!

People like you that assume 'I love anime' or whatever just make me dislike it further.
I wasnt implying that gamers universally love Japan, thats the title of the vid I posted, had you actually been arsed to watch it before you commented.

Mabe I didnt word the post too well, and I appologise for that, but be refering to people who like anything from; Japaneese games, Anime, Manga, sake, sushi, j-rock, cuture, music and art from japan, as "Japanophiles" just comes across as both ignorant and arrogant. Are Cliffy B and Tim Schafer so called "Japanophiles" for saying they like japan? (again in the video)

and finally, what gives you reason to belive I assume you love anime? If you dislike anime thats youer beef, but dont assume that "people like" me will dislike you for it, chill out dude.

I heart Japan because the people there are generally speaking more collective than in other countries. Also, they take their work seriously. I mean, they manage living on such a tiny island with so many people, it's really quite the feat. And then not to freak out when disasters like the tsunamis and earthquakes happen, just wow. Respect.

Of course, it's anime and manga and their video games that first really had me interested. It's wonderfully creative stuff they produce and I think many people in the western world feel an appeal because it's just so unlike their own culture, like a good polar opposite in many ways. So I'd say, the world is richer artistically for the creative minds from Japan.

Also, the language is cool. I like it a lot.

The thing that fascinates me most about Japan has to be the food and the Shinto religion is absolutely fanscinating.

It's the link in video games/anime/food. Living so close to Seattle, aka Tokyo's sister city, Japan's culture is more present in my life than say, Poland or France, despite Polish and French both being in my family lineage. I've loved Japan since I was young. Plus they make some pretty sweet cars. I love my Acura.

I heart you Japan!

I love the culture and their overall attitude towards each other. Politeness like that is rare these days.
