As for me in all these 8 Reasons Why They Leave a MMO, PvP(real ppl versus real ppl) owned everything, in other words, MMO provide us a more convenient way to play a game with real ppl(more convenient than LAN game). Except this, MMO means nothing to single play game on pc and console. How about you guys?

Of the MMO's I've left.

Player Hatred, Impossible Mechanics, Frustration at Lousy Mechanics, Game going over to purely PvP, Dullness, Overcomplexity.

Onset of Morons is the most common though. Once the e-peen wavers come in, you know it's best to cancel your account.

I got bored... It was Runescape. And I couldn't pay the $5 a month to become a member, so I quit.

I left WoW twice. Once because I realized I had just woken up on a Sunday at 6am to listen to a guy explain how to kill a dragon for two hours. Then is when I realized that you had to be way more serious than I ever would be about games to play it.

The second time I left I was farming honor in battlegrounds and playing PSP at the same time, I realized at that point in time that playing a game, to avoid being bored while playing a game was beyond silly.

I once quit LotRO, I don't know why. In fact that game completely mystifies me. It's like a big grey spot in my memory. I can't remember any details about that point in my life.

I've never left an MMO but I sure know why I will never join one. Boring Boring Boring. The only fun I can get from WoW is by walking around making everyone dance, and then insulting them. I'm pretty sure these actions will get me banned from the World so Its not like I can keep on doing that.

if I want to socialise I will go on MSN. if I want to go into a fantasy world I will play Baldurs gate.

When rabble-rousers come and make arguments for the sake of dividing the once-unanimus community.

When it makes you play it to keep on level footing with all the people who apparently have no prior responsibilities and can devote all their time to it.

That bothers me, as well. On one MMO, I gave up leveling altogether and began using it purely as a social MMO.

When the game becomes more about leveling (and grinding) then having fun.

I hate grinding.

That's my reason for leaving WoW behind and never looking back - I just can't take it even remotely as seriously as everyone else.

I've left both Eve Online and Vendetta Online behind for the same main reason. I get very addicted to games, with everything else suffering ie friends, girlfriend, work etc. Now this is alright when its say GTA because eventually you finish it and get back to the real world, but MMOs just never end. Basically I find them incompatible with have a well balanced life.

Next is the money, if I played an MMO for a year I'd have paid somewhere in 3 figures, that's just too much for a game.

Finally, to get what I want out of them you have to be far more serious about games than I'm willing to be. By that I mean you have to go on at specific times to do things. Now for me any social activity has to take precedence over a game, 'oh sorry I can't come out tonight/can't watch that film with you/whatever because my corporation is having a big mining op' is not something I could ever say.

This is half the reason I left WoW, I had a life outside of WoW and you just couldn't compete with that that has no life. Also just the pure grinding, it just gets old fast. Lastly the fee. If I'm I wasn't playing WoW every day per month I was basically wasteing my money.

Everyone leaves MMO's as soon as they realise just how shit they really are. This can take seconds, months or even years.

I moved to the US, and just didn't feel like continuing monthly payments so I could have my character run around uselessly because I don't have enough time to really level it up properly anymore.

I left WoW because the computer I played it on went with my sister when she moved with her fiance. Once I get my own computer, I will be playing again. Let the flames flare.

Lemme see...

I have abandoned too many MMO's to count, so I will just tell the reason: Boredom. Grinding, shouting down trolls (those were fun, for ten minutes), just all of it almost, except for the fact that sometimes they forgot to install a bad word filter, then it was a hell to play in if I did'nt shout down aforementioned trolls.

A list.

1. Boredom.

2. Lack of new content for new characters. This is a BIG one for me. I absolutely... ABSOLUTELY hate having a choice between two places to hunt in my 30's and 40's. Why game developers have thought this would be a good idea is beyond me.

3. End game content being dull/raid only. All MMO's do this. All MMO's lose me here. Except for UO. This is one game that was made perfectly.

4. Want of another game, usually a different MMO. Currently I'm playing a month of EQ2 in wait for Warhammer Online. I've also quit WoW and EQ2 a good number of times for other MMO's such as DDO and CoH/CoV.

5. People. This is why I don't play WoW anymore. Also, #2 and #3.
