Oh, okay sorry my bad. I wasn't actually intending to insult anyone, just state the facts.
I know how that feels actually, I made a Halo thread back in March and then it gets dug up again at this late a stage so I'm sorry if I may have seemed harsh, as I said didn't mean to, just stated the facts.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with what you put, I was just pointing out that all the people posting did so months ago as the thread wasn't new, they'd probably forgotten all about it.

Possibly cause some people get sick and tired of hearing other people bash or praise it in meaningless ENDLESS threads and gamestores, magazines, tv, and real life conversation. Those are the same people that don't care cause they realize it's only a game and not some holy standard of all things videogames, and have no time futile debates. Well speaking from my pov anyway.

It's good to average just so soo tired of hearing about it. It's the "family guy" of gaming.

i dont hate halo i just fail to see why its great. its not bad its just average. i think it should be in the ranks of say battlefield or call of juarez, u know games that are ok for a good price but if a new one doesnt come out it doesnt really matter. there is absolutely no way that it should be compared to great games like call of duty and gears of war.

But if it was generic then why did everyone say it "revoluntionized FPS" it "set the bar for FPS" etc, etc.?

(was the bar really low back then or were the reviewers just high or something?)

It was the first FPS to get the balance of grenades and melee and weapon just right.

plus it had a big fun factor on split screen.

We just get a little touchy because it's a conversation that crops up a lot and never ends well. -_-

You are probably fortunate enough to have missed most of them for which I don't envy you, that said I do agree that people hate it because it's popular.
