I think you should just not own an I pod there are better mp3 players out that wont cause you any problems.
Wow the only Zune Owner has spoken!

OT:I always found the in-game music player too fussy to deal with!

You get the trendiest trendtastic trend person award. If you have ever left the USA you would see that most people have other MP3 players than IPODs. Why is that? because everything in the states is about trends unfortunately, dont get me wrong, there are those of us who make up our own minds. But most of the masses here are just like you. They buy whatever is the most hyped, and they repeat lines they hear elsewhere - like what you just said about zune. So what if he is the only one using a zune? does that make it a bad player? it is sad because when I was in high school I would see other kids be individual and own something unpopular - but as soon as the fanboys who love to be on the band wagon tell them they suck because they don't follow mainstream - sadly many of those with originality cave in - and then they are depressed deep inside because they really did not like that ipod, or that xbox - so they end up being even more hateful towards others who don't follow the bandwagon.
I live in Australia, never even seen a Zune until I went to Europe and even then still saw more iPods, in the words of Yahtzee "Sometimes it's good to remember that popular things are popular for a reason."

OT Microsoft doesn't hate you... They just don't really care about you as long as they continue to make $100mill a year each. And no, Sony are not any better.

A few months ago, I happen to remember that Forza 3 was just on the horizon; and in my excitement I decided to start playing Forza 2 again. Now, I had recently deleted all my music from my 360 to free up some space, and I had an iPod anyway. Long story short I realize that for some idiotic reason, I needed to download some update so that my 360 could play Protected AAC songs from my iPod (which is a good chunk of them). After some frustrating searching (with no help from Microsoft, of course) I found the update and downloaded it. Afterwards, I could play normal AAC songs, but not Protected AAC files. Whatever, close enough.

So now I start up my 360 to play Forza 3, and it says I need to download a system update. Fine, whatever. Surprise! Now the only songs I can play from my iPod are the illegally downloaded ones. Hows that for retarded irony? I tried downloading the update again, but all it said was "to use this content, insert the game it was downloaded for." Jesus Christ.

So do any of you know how to fix this problem, and more importantly, why does Microsoft hate us and not want us to be happy?

Becuase you touch yourself at night. Nah, JK. Just call suport or something.

Microsoft was just trying to free you from the failboat that is your iPod. Then again, not everyone needs to be original.

I like how people are bashing you, saying that it serves you right for downloading music illegally, when you specifically said that it's the pirated music that works, and the legit music is broken. So, in reality, the lesson here is that you should pirate music, because it is safer to you, the consumer.

This sums it up nicely.
Moral of the story?
Don't use an iPod.

IDK, Im pretty sure Microsoft hates us all. I mean, they charge us for EVERYTHING, and it really seems to get a little unnecessary, especially when half their crap doesnt even work.

And if you still dont believe me, allow me to point out- Windows 7.

You just came out with Vista, Microsoft! We dont need ANOTHER OS! Just fix Vista, damnit!

oh, and i also partly solved the iPod problem, but point still stands.

I'd feel for you, but then You mentioned that you could only play the illegally downloaded music.

Moral of the story, it doesn't hate us, it hates us when we uses illegally downloaded music on iPods that are plugged into Xbox360's.

As for fixing the problem, how do you use your iPod normally? Just do that while you play the game. Can't hear the game? Too bad for you.

Microsoft doesnt hate us, it hates YOU Bladecatcher. You and only you. Right as we speak it is plotting your downfall. And your iPod wont be able to save you when it comes for you. I joke. Microsoft is cuddly like kittens and is our benevolent Saviour. At least thats what my spell check thinks i want to say. In fact its suggesting it rather strongly.

Microsoft apparantly hates me, because my sony doesn't even register when it's plugged into the xbox.

But the hate is mutual, because my 360 isn't even a year old and it's half dead.Plus they make me spend money I don't have.

Microsoft doesn't hate us their just evil. A lot of the things they sell are just complete mind f*cks. Take the Wireless adapter for the 360 for example. If you have a router half a mile away and can't use the ethernet cord then your f*cked. Then you have to fork over $100 just to get on the net. Plus pay another $50 a year or so depending on what live package you buy. It's just Microsofts way of being evil and sucking the f*cking life out of your money!!!! Also NO that isn't business! It's being evil the adaptor should have been in the 360 like every other f*cking console in the whole damned race!!!!

Sorry ninja steve, but one of the Microsoft stormtroopers was looking over my shoulder to see if I was praising their products and saw your post.

They said something about jumper cables and left for your place.

Protected AAC files are basically Apple's DRM. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FairPlay] So it makes sense that a 360 wouldn't be able to play them.

They charge us for everything... and here I thought that's how a business works.

They just came out with Vista... and it seems to be working fine now they released the patches needed. In fact, they only released Windows 7 so they can save face, you don't have to buy it, they just expect their mindless drones to. I read somewhere - can't remember where - you don't need to buy Windows 7 if you have Vista, it's pretty much the same and Vista is working just fine now.

And you partly solved the iPod problem, good, I hope you manage to solve the entire thing.

MS hate us? NO! They just want us to fork them out, large sums of money, cover'd in our sweet, salty tears. They're bastards, Bill Gates is worth more than the whole nation of Ghana, yet he still trys to squeeze us for extra money.
