So, I assume you hate VALVe? VALVe owner Gabe Newell said that the PS3 was, "A waste of everyone's time." (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7422&Itemid=61) Basically, you are NOT getting Left 4 Dead until the devil named EA ports it, which is very probable.Indigo_Dingo said:O.k., what does the 360 have?x434343 said:You LIKE Sony? I also assume you have no soul or, indeed, conciense. Sony has had no fine selling points besides Resistance, which can be beaten by a similar PC counterpart of Crysis (<total lie, I'm just assuming) and MGS4, which will probably be on the 360 within 2 years, Like BioShock defectwed to the PS3 this month. Seriously, all it has is a Blu-Ray drive, which 360 can has by fall, and good graphics, which I can tell is a torrid selling point: Graphics do not a great game make, but only by story and the light of gameplay can a game be excellent (Examples: See Call of Duty, Half-Life, BioShock).MrHappy255 said:Um, thanks I get the message, sad fact is I like sony they just have a way of driving me nuts. As I assume they have done to you as well.teh_pwning_dude said:It's because they're [expletive deleted]
The Ps3 has processing power to spare, thats why Sony lent it out for disease research. This is also why we are getting Crysis.
Sony has fucking excellent stories - Heavenly Sword, R & C Future, Uncharted : Drakes Fortune (don't believe everything Yahtzee tells you), and Metal Gear Solid 4 (No fucking way its going to the 360. For one, its too big, and for another, Kojima hates the 360)
And of course Resistance : Fall Of Man. I've said it before, but as you didn't get the message; The story of Resistance begins in a U.S. Congressional hearing in the middle of the first world war. After much discussion, the Congress agrees - there is no clear danger to America in this threat, and the U.S. cannot risk becoming involved. Europe must fight her own war. Next, dissatisfaction amongst her people leads Russian workers to unite and attempt to overthrow the Czar. However, it is crushed. With no American involvement and the continued support of Russia, Britains great war must continue on. Finally, an honoruable truce is found - neither side is decided to be the evil party, and so Germany must not hemorrhage money to pay for the Treaty of Versailles. Americas lack of involvement in the war has meant that the debt that would cause global depression is never felt - Japan and Germany remain docile, the axis can never link.
At this time, a comet has crashed into Siberia, carrying with it a mutagenic virus (People keep making the mistake of calling the Chimera aliens. They're actually just infected humans - sorta like the Combine infantry). Russia attempts to quarantine herself, and deal with it. With the ideal Russian climate, the Chimeras growth is quick - they spread, harvesting and infecting the entire country. She is doomed. Worse, her geographic position allows easy invasion of all of Europe - she falls in a matter of weeks.
How can you not love this story? No, I'm asking. On what grounds do people say that Resistance is lacking a story?
The Ps3 also has Sony's knack for identifying great series (Sony took a chance on Grand Theft Auto and Guitar Hero)
Right. So Resistance has a good story. Which is why I want it. [/sarcasm] Every game can have a good story. Most just choose to say "Fuck it" and hash out sequels. Resistance does have a good Sci-Fi story, but Crysis does too. Lemme ask you something: Does Resistance offer customizable weapons, 4 different suit modes, and shitty vehicle sections? Yes, I LOVE the shitty vehicles; They make me laugh when I fail epically.
As for the fact that the 360 can't run MGS4, there's a flipside. If they toned down the graphics a touch, separated it into a few discs, and got Kojima to approve, then it could go onto the 360. Hey, Lost Odyssey had 4 discs, maybe MGS4 could be split into 5.
As for not going with Blu-Ray to start, console wars are console wars. 360 is developing a 360 wii mote thing, which might challenge Nintendo a bit. Anything could happen. The point is, there was no 100% guarantee at the time that Blu-Ray would win. Microsoft has now realized that in order to stick with the times, they need a Blu-Ray drive.
The fact of the matter is, aside from a few exclusives, Sony is sharing many of it's games with the 360 and the PC. Orange Box, BioShock (Why do people say Bioshock? It's proper name is, in fact, BioShock. Capital B-i-o-capital S-h-o-c-k, like BIOlogical SHOCK.), CoD4, Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band (OK that isn't on PC), Assassin's Creed, R6V2, GTA4, and DMC4, to name a few. Unless Sony can nail a good co-op zombie game, a good MODERN shooter, and a good instrument game, the PS3 is just a bigger, slightly-better-graphics, a few different games, no Mass Effect or L4D, Blu-Ray enabled, downloading 360.
