To those who think this is a religious rant, please, don't make it one. I'm just trying to highlight something I've seen in movies, heard in songs and played in Video Games: Why is it the Devil seems to lose in everything?
I mean, what constitutes losing, really? In "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", What makes The Devil's playing any less than Johnny's Fiddle Playing? Johnny just so happens to have lyrics to go with the melody, while The Devil has a very wicked playing style.
Same goes for the Devil, Beelzeboss (Don't Correct me, I know it's Beelzebub) in "Tenacious D In The Pick of Destiny". Sure, he has a drum set, he still has a pretty cool guitar and a wicked style too, even though I actually liked KG & JB's acoustic playing.
But onto my thought: Why do they seem to lose? The one thing that I notice is there is no judge on these battles, so why does the Ultimate Evil not cheat his way to winning?
In Fact, the only two times that I can think of where there is an audience that could actually judge who is the real winner is the movie "Crossroads" and the video game "Guitar Hero 3", but only because of the buttons the players hit and everything.
Besides the whole "Good vs. Evil" thing, or bringing religion into this, why does the devil always seem to lose, and on a seperate note, does anyone think he could just stop picking up an instrument? He seems to lose everytime he plays music.
