Why does this make me upset?

Ignore the society as much as it ignores you. Works both ways. In the end, you can lay a crap in the middle of street and nobody will care. Same as you shouldn't, when someone has the urge. It might be a matter of life and death, after all.

fallen angel ,what country are you from ,just wondering.
England, the land of the bigoted and the 'footie' obsessed.
Then it makes sense to me that it is some of your countrymen, the band Electric Wizard, who wrote the following piece of lyric:

Today I stopped and stared,
I realised I just don't care,
A chasm black and wide,
Between me and mankind.

If I died today, that's what would be standing on my gravestone. Sums it all up pretty neatly.

I work in retail(in Minnesota, U.S.), so believe me when I say I've met hundreds of people as bad as the ones you mentioned. Gradually I've come to make a game of it. I dress like a goth, sporting a classic "evil villain" goatee, and I'm polite and friendly with everyone I meet. Sometimes they're shocked, other times I have to resort to telling them to go f*ck themselves in an equally happy and cheery tone. That really throws them off.

One more thing while I'm ranting. To all the parents who go ballistic on their kids for touching stuff in stores... YOUR KID IS SUPPOSED TO LIKE SKITTLES! LEARN HOW TO TALK TO YOUR KIDS INSTEAD OF YELLING! *pant* there... I feel much better.

I'm crying, I don't know why.
Why am I crying? Why is this making me upset? I feel so annoyed, angry and sad at the same time.
Discussion value? How does situations like this make you feel?
You're crying because you saw a bunch of people behave intolerably badly. Some people can find this to make them feel insecure, or even hopeless.

Good on ya, I'd be fairly upset too.

The way I deal with it is to just laugh at everything and I mean [i/]everything[/i].
Same.

And Sir, out of a mall full of people you saw three people do something you didn't agree with while the possible hundreds of people going about their business as you should see fit did exactly what was normal.

3 people?

Come on, misanthropy is silly.

EDIT: At least indifference is justifiable.

I do my best to be the opposite of these kind of people, I'll go out of my way to help people and I don't expect much in return, knowing I did something good makes me happy.

People suck. I hate going to public places because I always intervene if I see a parent being ridiculously cruel to a child, especially if the child is mentally disabled. Said parents usually proceed to take a swing or two at me and freak out if I catch them by the wrist or memorize what they look like and inform some type of authourity.

My teachers always say that 95% percent of people are good and decent, it's that 5 out of every hundred that ruin it for everyone. My french class, for example. I know a lot of the people enough to know that they are smart and generally nice. But it's a big class of about 35, with about 4 lowlife pricks. Their behavior is contagious. Nobody wants to take a part in class because they're either afraid of the torrent of insults from the 4 (and from everyone else who is agreeing with them so they aren't harassed) or they just give in to depression that it's not worth it, since it's impossible to learn in there anyway. The same goes for standing up to the 4, either they think they will look like sellout horrible narks to the 4, or they won't bother because they "won't get it anyway." Which they won't. If we don't step up and refuse to be controlled by the horrible ignorant wretches who "don't get it" then we will as a society, species, and planet, fail.
