Why doesn't Yahtzee try Multiplayer very much?

Yahtzee is one of my favorite game reviewers and all around nerds, but there's one mistake he tends to make: He'll play a shoddy tacked-on Single Player campaign and review that and forget the multiplayer- which is sometimes the whole focus of the game! If you're going to play Battlefield or Halo or AvP or any other recent multiplayer game or whatnot for the singleplayer only, you are not going to like it very much at all. Why does he do this?

Bad experiences with online players, more likely than not.

I think he might've mentioned this in one of his videos.

He feels multiplayer is used as a crutch in most games. I agree with him, for the most part. Video-games should be about taking the player on a journey and should be more about the single player experience than the multiplayer experience. Plus, he hates kids, so that's that.

Cause he doesn't like multiplayer, I'm assuming. That's not a mistake, that's an opinion. He plays the single player part of the game and reviews it cause there are plenty of people who do exactly the same thing who are of the same opinion as him. They simply don't enjoy multiplayer.

First of all I shouldn't have to pay 60 dollars for a game with a 3 FUCKING HOUR STORY-MODE, which is justified by the multi player.

Plus multi player is full of pricks, which is a brilliant reason not to play.

This will answer all your questions.

Playing a game that's designed for Multiplayer and not actually playing the multiplayer portion of it doesn't make a good review. Example: Bad Company 2. It's a freaking Battlefield game and he didn't even touch the multiplayer.

Because (I think from what he has said in his previous videos) he does not enjoy it. I occasionally have the same problem. I will not play multi-player in RTS games except with people I know because it annoys me. I don't have too much of a problem with FPS games, I think partly because I play them on the PC.

He has to deal with people. He doesn't like people. Therefore he doesn't enjoy the experience of dealing with people. That experience is multiplayer mode.

He just doesn't like most multiplayer very much. Neither do I, for that matter.
Look at it this way: why would a primarily multiplayer game even have a single-player campaign, particularly one which everybody (the developers included) will consider "shoddy" and "tacked-on"?
If the single-player mode can't stand up as a game by itself, then it doesn't need to be there at all.

He stated some time ago that all games must be able to stand up on single player alone. He reviews games with that premise in mind.

Because he's not a fan. I'm not a fan of Oblivion, doesn't mean I'm judging the rest of you who do play it... Weird little fuckers that you are...

Well, there's an entirely different problem there. Bad Company 2 has one of the glitchiest multiplayers I've ever played. Still fun, but I've never sworn so much at a video game (not even Halo), and it was purely because of the glitches. And bad tank controls.
