Why don't we have a sequel yet?

I know we have a lot of complaints about originality in games, but sometimes a sequel is great. I mean, in Republic Commando I'm waiting for a 2 year old cliffhanger, KOTOR begs a third, and Wing Commander may FINALLY be coming out of a decade long coma. What games do you think need sequels?

I'd prefer original ideas though I wouldn't mind a Bioshock 2 from the perspective of a detective in Rapture before and during the fall, noire and all.

I wouldn't mind a Baldurs Gate 3, Outpost 3, another Descent or a 'proper' sequel to X-Com: Terror from the Deep

Kid Icarus. Do it, Nintendo. A true sequel this time, not that Game Boy Color game or whatever.
I've been waiting since 1988 for that sequel. How could Nintendo do this to us.

Wow...after Kid Icarus....everything else just seems like nitpicking.

OK.....why not a sequal to 1998 USA Godzilla? Except this time they do it right: Godzilla doesn't run away from military fire. Hell, give me the rights, I'll have him fight a giant robot that's a mix of Kiryu, Gigan, and Space Godzilla and a shape-shifting creature that goes through basically every big villian in the series (Biollante, Desturoyah, Orga, Gidorah)....and I'd have Mothra helping out Zilla and a whole human enemy that ends up being Monster X.

A sequel for pretty much anything Bullfrog did. When I got my first PC, it was a monster (at the time) Pentium 120, 32megs of Ram, 15inch monitor. The first game that got me hooked on PC gaming was Syndicate Wars. Four super-soldiers running around huge cities doing the dirty work of massive corporations. Fully destructable buildings, nuclear grenades, miniguns, and the ability to rob banks and arm and hypnotize the populace. So much freaking fun.

I have been in the mood for a plotless goofy frag fest, so I will say, Serious Sam! Don't yell at me!
Commander Keen done by Insomniac.
I will 3rd the bid for Kid Icarus and second the Baldur's Gate.
A modern sequel to Tie Fighter in the 'current' star wars timeline.
a True sequel to Master of Magic. (age of wonders was so close but just not the same.)

Another Beyond Good and Evil game would be nice, as would any games based on the old lucasarts games (You know, the fantastic, in depth, funny, clever adventure games), as long as they're done well.

Also, another game like 'Vampire: Bloodlines' would be nice. There's so much in the setting that the game never touched on (Other supernatural groups, such as the Mages and the Garou, and an organise Sabbat rather than a half-hearted rabble, to name a few)

For the love of all that is good and decent, Beyond Good & Evil. Ubisoft! Why have you forsaken me!

I'd love to see a sequel to earthbound or even a re-release on some Nintendo console. Given Nintendo's love for making the same game over and over again, it's odd that this hasn't happened to earthbound.

They actually were developing a Werewolf: The Apocalyse game but it got pulled due to the deemed by White Wolf failure of Vampire: bloodlines.

I second the Eternal Darkness bid. The Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (which is the same mythos) for the Xbox was as far away from Eternal Darkness as you could get.
I like the idea of horror games that don't rely on the Umbrella corp or heinous bloody murders in buildings that all look like people have been using the walls as urinals for decades.
